memphish Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 I should have it going within the hour. Anyone else hooked on the SSX series?
coasterguy618 Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 I love the SSX games and I am looking forward to buy SSX on tour. It looks so cool! -Gaven
Teddymonster Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 I LOVE SSX. Ever since the original on PS2, I've been hooked. I played a demo of On Tour the other day, and other than having a new aesthetic, there was very little difference in game substance. Yeah, the skis are a nice touch, but what is up with the slow-mo and zoomed Uber tricks? I may actually rent this one before I dish out the green.
memphish Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 The new mountain is awsome. I though SSX-3's was large, but this one has alot more to it. It is alot harder to get your Tricky>Uber>now Monster trick, and your special meter deteriorates alot faster. They also got rid of the multipliers which I think was stupid. Being able to hit the elusive 3 - 10x multiplier runs was one of the best things in the game especially when playing two player. Still, seeing as it's the only SSX game I have a copy of, I'll be giving it alot of attention, especially since they really screwed up Tiger and NCAA this year.
coasters 4 me Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 SSX games are the best snowboarding games ever. I was hooked on SSX3.
ZipityDoDog Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 (edited) Love the SSX Series, Just came back from Fry's With SSX on Tour for the PSP. Edited October 17, 2005 by ZipityDoDog
Teddymonster Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 ^^I found it really surprising that all of the On Tours, except for the PSP version are only $39.99 MSRP. The PSP one...$49.99. I know which one I'm gonna get (and because I don't own a PSP) 8)
Teddymonster Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Okay...after having played On Tour for a while I must say that I am very underwhelmed. While the game is interesting stylistically, the amount of animation going on in the menus kills my attention span. There is too much clutter going on. As far as gameplay goes...Same ol' Sh*t, IMO. The only thing that seems new is the aesthetic and that is not enough to draw me in. Looks like EA is turning SSX into another repetitive sports title (No offense to you sports-games fans).
ZipityDoDog Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 ^ I somewhat agree with you Teddymonster about the animation and same gameplay, but still fun. In one of this weekend ads, all versions were 27.99.
