I don't think I'd ever do a VIP tour at CP, simply because I've done everything so many times over the years, I just don't think it would be worth it to me. However, your report does make me want to do VIP tours at other parks, such as possibly Dollywood when we go next year! So thanks for the heads-up! I honestly hadn't given it any thought prior to now...

To me, Cedar Point deserves a VIP Tour simply because of how much there is to do. It is awesome to be able to do everything in the park, several times in 8 hours as opposed to having to visit the park on multiple days. I would highly suggest a VIP Tour at Dollywood. If you have never been to the park, or it has been many years since you have been to the park, I would highly suggest it. (See below for information about a Dollywood VIP Tour.)

Thanks for the reply about the VIP tour! The guy with the VIP receipt was in the regular TTD lane at opening, then he jumped from the standby line to the FP+ line in front of me right before the station. He voluntarily showed me his VIP receipt and it was indeed legit. He got on the ride in front of us after showing the station attendant the receipt. Several people asked him why he didn't have a wristband because it was confusing? He said in no uncertain words that unless we all worked for CP to pound sand. Nobody was even remotely rude to him so it was a bizarre response. His wife met him at the station platform for the ride. I saw them once later on in the day walking around but didn't note a staff member with them, however I wasn't really looking for one. What color were your wristbands?

Having not have been there I have no idea the situation that went on with that guy, and the ride operator. To me it just seems fishy. But maybe that's just me. Our wristbands were white, and blue. The white was for unlimited drinks, the blue was for unlimited food.

Very cool that you don't have to wait in any lines whatsoever! That's a huge bonus especially if you only have 1 day and rarely or never get to CP. We stayed for 2 days and got FP+ both times. Even with waiting in very short FP lines of max 15 mins, we took several leisurely breaks simply because we got tired LOL. Having free food is a big bonus too however we ate lunch at the marina Famous Dave's both days so I guess it wouldn't count for that. I had no idea there even was a VIP tour until the 2nd day with that guy - how did you find out about it? We want to go to Dollywood for the first time next year so I'll have to see if they have fast passes or VIP.

I have known about VIP Tours at parks for many years now, it just never seemed to be something I cared to do. Obviously the older I have gotten, and the more I have looked into it the more I realized how much we would really enjoy it. Things that make the VIP Tour worth it for us:

1.) I HATE to wait in lines. Like HATE HATE HATE .... H.A.T.E. Waiting in lines. I can not express how much I hate waiting in lines, which is the biggest plus for me on a VIP Tour is that I don't wait in lines for anything.

2.) It's nice always having someone with you who can make sure you get the most out of your visit. If you want to see a show, you get VIP Seating... You don't have to wait to get in. . . If you want a specific restaurant they make reservations so you don't have to wait in line there either. Typically your VIP Tour Guide is very knowledgeable of the park. Yes pretty much all of us on here are know a lot about coasters, and thrill rides, and even parks... But I was surprised that there were things our VIP Tour Guide knew about the park that we didn't know. Simple things like trivia facts, or short cuts to take... nothing major but just little things.

3.) The unlimited food and drink packages that come with VIP Tours are actually really nice. It's nice to just walk up to a window and get something to drink if you are thirsty... Or if you are hungry you just get to walked up and get something to eat. It is nice, and it is really convenient.

4.) Not waiting in lines! Seriously, I know I have said it a million times but it is true. When you go from having to wait a few hours for a ride to not having to wait for anything it is really nice. That itself makes the VIP Tour worth it.

If you are considering a VIP Tour to Dollywood I highly suggest it. We are going to Dollywood for the first time next year, and we are already picking dates for our VIP Tour. A VIP Tour at Dollywood is going to include:

Not only does Dollywood offer a VIP Tour, they also offer a "WILD EAGLE LIFT TOUR." Which will cost $59 but sounds amazing. To me it is worth the $59!

WILD EAGLE LIFT TOUR

Ready to soar with the eagles? Jump on the Wild Eagle Lift Tour and you’ll fly where very few have flown before…at the top of Wild Eagle’s massive lift hill.

This extremely-exclusive tour allows just eight participants the opportunity to ascend Wild Eagle’s lift, aided by an experienced tour guide, to survey the park from the summit. From your perch more than 200 feet above Dollywood, your bird’s-eye view offers commanding sights of Dollywood as well as the Great Smoky Mountains. (This part of the tour takes approximately one and a half hours, which includes outfitting in a full-body harness, ascent, time at the top of the lift and descent.)

Participants meet at Tram Stop B at 8:00 A.M. and enjoy a guided tour of Wild Eagle’s lift and maintenance bay, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session right before boarding the day’s first Wild Eagle train. Participants also receive quicker access to ride Wild Eagle for the remainder of the day.

Having never been to Dollywood we are booking both the VIP Tour, and the Wild Eagle Lift Tour. They both sound amazing, and I know it is going to make the vacation amazing. We love to go to theme parks, and we love to do neat little add on things that each park offers. We have talked about it, and we enjoyed the VIP Tour enough that we will NEVER go back to another park without booking a VIP Tour. To us it is worth it. To others it may not be worth it. But to us it is.

Typically you can find on a parks official website if the park offers VIP Tours. You can find out what they include, what they cost, and more details about what is specific to each park's VIP Tour. If you are considering a VIP Tour at a park I would tell you that the best day to do one is on a Saturday. That is when you will feel like you are getting the best value for your money. We all know how busy parks get on weekends, and it really makes the VIP Tour worth it.

-- Sorry to go into so much detail about the Dollywood VIP Tour, but since two of you were considering it I thought I would put as much information about it here as possible to hopefully help you decide if a VIP Tour is for you!

^Thanks so much for the info! The more details the better so you get an A+ from me. I didn't see anything about fast passes on Dollywood's website so may have to consider the VIP tour. The Wild Eagle lift tour sounds really cool and I'll make a note of that when we start looking at dates for our trip next year.

You're welcome for the info! Dollywood does have a "Fast Lane" Style system, however I am not familar with it, so I can not provide you with any advice about it! All I can do is provide you with a link!! . . . I still suggest a VIP Tour! You wont regret it!

I echo these sentiments, DoinItForTheFame, and thank you for the info! For a family of 6 (5 of admission age), $200 a pop is a tad pricey, but it sounds awesome, so I'm still considering it. We've never been to Dollywood, and it looks fabulous, so I really want for the family to be able to enjoy everything plenty!
