fatdaddy
Okay TPR was invited to experience Fright Fest's first Friday for the season. We got access to Fright Feast and some front of the line wristbands to explore the mazes. Now, it's been awhile since I did Fright Fest, maybe 2 years, so I was excited to see the improvements made this year. We knew this was important because Neal Thurman took time out from packing his suitcase to come out and greet us, or maybe he was there for the spaghetti, yeah it was the spaghetti. Anyway, we started with the Fright Feast, salad, pizza, boneless wings, spaghetti, pies, fountain drinks, everything you need for a night of being terrified. Sit down...and dancing zombies, followed by magic, how magical! Classic magic tricks, a few jokes and a girl in a box, more dancing, staple guns, money, all for your entertainment! So, now we explore the mazes, scare zones, the bathroom ...everywhere! Okay, if you,re in the park, the scare actors are gonna find you, there's nowhere to hide, really. Of course, if you want to experience the mazes you'll need a wristband, which we had, and I will say that Reds Revenge was great, my favorite by far and what Magic Mountain should be aiming for if they want to compete with the other haunts in Southern California. Vault 666 was also a major improvement over previous years, very well done with some cool special effects. Of course, Willoughbys is Resurected and now you can explore their garden. Scare zones throughout the park, Hypnotist show, music at Voodoo Nights, coasters in the dark, convieniently located bathrooms, funnel cake...all sorts of stuff! Here's some pictures. Oh, and I did take some early pictures while there was still light, because darkness, fog and light effects don't tend to make for good photo op's. The real terror begins when you get on the scale after the buffet. Me and this guy hangin' around waiting for it to get dark. Ha! Hangin' around, cause he's in a tree! You'll need to visit here first if you plan on doing the mazes. Make sure to ask mom for some cash. It's scary because it looks like the chocolate wonderfall from Golden Corral. 1957 Dodge, I think. Oh and there's a maze behind it too, something about how goats suck. Violaters will need to purchase l*ckers, l*ckers from space! Oddly enough space l*ckers take American money. Why X2. Because this guy only has two fingers. Why area 19, because it's between area 18 and area 20, mystery solved. Get your zombie on! On you your head, cause it's a hat. Pretty sure this is the skull of Gary Busey, or not...Steve Buscemi? Miley Cyrus? Moving on. Apparently the zombies carpool. Foot fetish zombie wants to play with your toes! Not terrifying, but definatly creepy. It's been said men only want one thing from a woman, but this is going a little too far. Scarecrow...of death! Really, several ears of corn were killed to make this thing. Jack-O-Light Post, or something, Jack's off by the way, not dark yet. Eight legs and still can't dance, god has a cruel sense of humor. Raising the bar for haunt decorations! Fright Feast, first they fill you up, and then scare the crap outta you! I dunno, it's a buffet and a magic show. That's us! One for mazes, one for rides. Mom always told me I was special, these wristbands prove it! The beer is near to drink away your fear. Because vegans are evil! My favorite flavor was people...Tri tip, I mean tri tip, please ignore the hand. "Sorry sir, but this is all for Neal." No, really it was good, and real grated cheese too. "Chicken?" No way man I ain't afraid of nothing! But, hell yeah I'll have some chicken. Innocent pies slaughtered for your enjoyment! You can put ice cream on 'em too. We got to give a couple of lucky people some wristbands. Couldn't get a decent picuture of the dancers...cause they wouldn't stop dancing! Ha! Michael Turco (Americas Got Talent) does some old school magic tricks. You can probably guess, but there's a woman in the box being chopped up and she magically appears unharmed! I can do the chopping up and throwing in a box part right, it's the part where they reappear unharmed i can't get, must be doing something wrong. Magic, dancing, food...it's like being on a date with me except you don't leave crying. Sliders, the zombie kind, not the little sandwich kind. Can't hide from the scare zones, if you want to pass, you need to get by this guy. I think your garden might be haunted by Screech from Saved by the Bell. Wait is he dead? I know his career died long time ago. I like how this maze starts, most of my dreams start the same way. It's Magic Mountain, or course there's fire. You never know what's going to walk out of the darkness, could be a monster, could be your mother. If you thought you could hide in line from the monsters...um no. Red Revenge, sign says it's a haunted house...duh. Best Fright Fest maze ever! Oh good, ill just go towad those lights, it'll be safe over there. 3D squid hat...IT'S COMING RIGHT AT YOU! There's one of these spinning things...in 3D! IT'S COMING RIGHT AT YOU! For your information. Gene Simmons did say rock is dead, he may be right, cause the dude is like a zombie...HA! Walked right into a scare zone on the way out. I wonder what she looks like when she's out of those clothes. I meant out of costume, get your mind out of the gutter. Life after Gardians of the Galaxy, dude lives in a trash can. And it's past my bed time. Thanks Six Flags Magic Mountain, but it's time fo the terror to end, at least for tonight. Well, that's all I got, if any of this looks cool...go check it out. Did I mention there's roller coasters in the dark? Thanks to Magic Mountain for giving us the opportunity to experience Fright Fest. Definitly improved from previous years and of course the only way to experience it is to make a visit to Fright Fest for yourself, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through November 1st. Rollercoaster Rider
The fact that you guys got 4 new haunted houses makes me so jealous of your Fright Fest. Ours only got a rename of a house from last year and that's the "Biggest Fright Fest Ever" We did get a Male Mummy for LAFF Though.
