Hey guys,

I've been living in Japan (Kitakyushu) for the last 7 months now, and I have finally gotten a chance to get over to tokyo for 2 days. One of those days I'd like to visit a park. What was your favorite park in the Tokyo area (within an hour or so by train)? I was originally thinking Disney Sea, but it really is quite small. Anyway, any suggestions appreciated.

Have you been to the other Disney parks around the world? If you have I would say to go to Disney Sea. If you still think Disney Sea is too small, or you're not that big into Disney, I would instead to the "sampler tour" of Tokyo Parks and hit:

1. Yomiuriland

2. Sea Paradise

3. La Qua

If the parks have decent operating hours (say 10 - 10) this would be really easy. If not, just do Yomiuriland in the morning and La Qua in the evening.

Im with my family, so park hopping probably wont work out. They finally decided to come and visit me after 6 months, hehe. And yes, I have been to all 6 disney parks back in the US. So, are any of the Tokyo parks ig enough for a full day? THe one reason I coses diseny was becasue of the 9-10 operating hours. So, for one full day park, whats the best for a family of 4 in tokyo. Which one could you do for a full day without getting bored? Thanks a ton Elissa.

Yeah if you're looking to do just one park, I would choose either DisneySea or Tokyo Disneyland....they're both pretty awesome. The other Tokyo Parks really aren't 'full day' parks.

I'm not planning a trip there or anything, so I probably don't even need to be asking this.

But would it not be a good thing to do a less 'Americanised' park than a Disney one? You know, to better get the atmosphere of the country you're actually visiting?

Or have Disney allowed their surroundings to influence their design of that park enough for this to not be an issue?
