shivtim Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I've been collecting coaster and amusement park keychains since the mid 1990s. I've been inspired by recent threads (Martin's shirts and Bill's mugs) to start a keychain thread and post some pictures here. I currently have about 435 keychains. Most of them I bought at parks, but a few of them were gifts and some of them I bought online. I'll be posting some of my favorites and some of the more unusual ones in this thread. Of course feel free to post pictures of your favorite keychains! Let's start off with some of my vintage keychains... My collection! Deer Park - later renamed Michigan's Adventure Oh, Hi lady. I have no idea who this is. Remember these? I found this at a garage sale in Atlanta. Let's see who is inside... An old park near Anniston, Alabama. Disney World Six Flags "over" Magic Mountain Cedar Point 1970 Cedar Point 1970 (reverse)
shivtim Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 A few more: Tobu Zoo, home of Kawasemi! OK, technically this one is a cell phone charm, not a keychain. But isn't it adorably Japanese? Remember "The Amazement Park"? This is from the defunct Fun Spot in Indiana. From Deer Forest (Michigan's Adventure). This elephant key was used to make the animatronic fairy tale scenes come to life. Oddly, SFMM made "grad nite" keychains. Deeply discounted at West Coast Bash in September! A cool Leviathan leather keychain.
rctneil Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I too have collected keychains for many years and now have a collection of around 2000+. I don't have as many amusement park related ones as you do. My collection are keychains from anywhere at anytime so a really varied set. I might post some of them in this topic. Thanks for sharing!
shivtim Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Today's keychains: Odin is cute! Club TPR carabiner! This counts, right? Galveston Pleasure Pier had a pretty good selection of keychains. Cedar Point keychain book that folds out. A chilly ride on Cyclone at Coney Island.
attack7 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I felt so guilty being around Paul in Europe that I bought a Krake keychain. My collection of 1 is still wonderful. . You've got some awesome ones though - looking forward to seeing them here.

Nrthwnd Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I love it when a key chain has some thing "extra", to make it even that more special. The Cedar Point fold-out book is awesome!
rctneil Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 And three more from me: Pearl Tower in Shanghai has the Vekoma Junior Coaster, Space Switchback inside. Blaster from Buzz Lightyear at Hong Kong Disneyland. And a mini Rubiks Cube from Alton Towers in 2013.
rctneil Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 My 3 for today: A Lego dragon from Legoland Windsor: A character from Chimelong Paradise: And a miniature version of the Donald Duck popcorn buckets I saw so many people carrying around at TDR. It also comes with a small chain of fake popcorn!

Nrthwnd Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 ^^ Neil that TDL key chain is awesome! I would have bought it immediately, if I saw it. Where did you find it? Do you remember? The little popcorn chain suggests the Gag Factory Gift Shop in ToonTown. I got a neckchain of the stuff, there. And by the way - there's probably not-so Hidden Mickeys in that "popcorn". Mine has several, lol. Yep, the popcorn chain was from the Gag Factory Gift Shop..
rctneil Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I think it was from a main shop near the entry of one of the parks. And yes the popcorn does have hidden mickeys!
rctneil Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 And a few more: Duffy the Disney Bear, I couldn't go to Tokyo Disney with buying something Duffy related so it turned out to be this: Only keychain I could find that actually said Valleyfair! on it: Air on ride photo keychain from Alton Towers:
shivtim Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 My haul from Heide Park from the 2012 TPR Europe Tour. We had an AMAZING session on Colossos in torrential rain. I got more soaked on that ride than any water ride I've ever been on. Also Krake was a surprisingly fun ride.
Brad_G Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Great thread Paul. Didn't realise you got that many in Heide.
shivtim Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 Today, some more international coaster keychains! Europa Park is an amazing park, but they had a very poor selection of keychains. I didn't see any coaster/ride keychains. Some Walygator keychains Hanayashiki in Tokyo Tokyo Aqua Stadium - home of the indoor Intamin launched looper with lapbars!
