GoBears Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I have a gold pass to my home park, SFGAm, so I decided to head down to Texas for a father and son trip with my dad before I start college. I'll obviously save a lot of money by heading down there since I don't have to pay for admission or parking; just flight, hotel, and a rental car. I do have a few questions regarding Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. 1. I'm around 190 lbs but I have bigger thighs. Will I be able to ride NTG and Iron Rattler? I only ask this because of issues people were having with RMC rides after the NTG accident. I know the trains are built by Gerstlauer rather than RMC but I just wanted to be sure. 2. What are some cheap yet decent hotels near both parks? 3. What kind of lines might I expect for the rides of the week of May 19th-23rd? Thanks, Tyler
SharkTums Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Unfortunately, I don't think anyone can tell you if you'll fit or not. It's not just your thighs but your gut, butt, etc. I'd have to imagine at under 200lbs you'd be fine but I would hate to say that and then have you turned away. Our go to hotels in the area are the following: SFOT: La Quinta Arlington North Six Flags http://www.lq.com/lq/properties/propertyProfile.do?propId=692 It's walking distance to the park, has a nice lobby/breakfast area and is walking distance to other restaurants. SFFT: Drury Inn La Cantera Pkwy https://www.druryhotels.com/PropertyHotelServices.aspx?property=0141 I'm a big fan of Drury Inn's and this one is brand new and awesome!
GoBears Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 I guess not knowing if I'll be able to ride will be extra motivation to lose some weight the next few months. Thank you for your response! I stayed at a Drury Inn outside of SFSTl last spring and I thought it was excellent.

I recommend both of these places! Stayed at the Drury for house renovations recently and the La Quinta two years in a row for trips to SFOT. As for lines for SFFT the 23rd shouldn't be too bad. Private Schools in the area let out the next week, public schools 2 weeks after that. The 24th wouldn't be ideal, and if possible avoidable. Expect rather long lines that day. The 25th shouldn't be too bad moderate but bearable lines.
piedude81 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 For some reason I have been thinking that both NTG and iRat have been closed since the accident on NTG. When did they open up again?
larrygator Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 For some reason I have been thinking that both NTAG and iRat have been closed since the accident on NTAG. When did they open up again? September 14th
