Hello there,

I've never been to Busch Gardens during the fall before. I'm guessing with the Howl-O-Scream portion attracts quite a few guests though.

How bad of lines should I expect or be ready for on October the 11th?

A few friends and I are will be on fall break and are going to head down. I'm trying to figure out whether I want to try and convince them to get a Quick Queue pass.

So do you think buying a Quick Queue pass would be worth it? We are hoping to stay the full day

Thanks!

Hopefully some of our locals will chime in, but I can tell you if the weather is nice the night event will be VERY busy. During the day shouldn't be terrible though so if you can get there for opening you should be able to get quite a few rides in.

You should be fine without Quick Queue, definitely during the day. They only have six mazes and the first opens at 5:30 so you will definitely have enough time to get all of them done before 10.

I was there last Friday in perfect 70 degree weather and the longest wait was Verbolten around 20 minutes and 5 minutes for anything else, minus the front row of coasters.

^ To be fair, if someone has NEVER been to the park before, I wouldn't steer them away from Quick Queue. While someone who is a local or a more frequent visitor may not *need* it, let's just say the lines are still short, at 20 minutes each.

Someone who has NEVER been to the park before could certainly benefit quite a bit by getting Quick Queue, skipping past 10 "short" 20 minutes lines and saving themselves nearly four hours in line that will allow them to ride favorite rides multiples, go see a show they might normally not have been able to, relax a bit more getting food, etc.

And even if you don't use it much during the day, at night, assuming the Quick Queue pass is good all day and night, it will ABSOLUTELY come in handy if you want to get night rides on any of the coasters.

There are different levels of Quick Queue, so I recommend checking the park's Web site and seeing which is the best fit for you. Quick Queue gives you one-time priority access to mazes and a number of rides for $30, and you can get Unlimited for $55 (online prices). Friday is usually the slowest night for HOS, and Saturdays are crazy.

The park should be a ghost town during the day, but crowds do tend to pick up at night since you're going early in the season. I'd just go to the park and see how the crowds are before buying Fastpasses. If you do opt for them, I'd buy them come Haunt time. All the major gift shops sell them.

From experience, 13 gets the longest waits maze-wise and Verbolten (clearly) gets the longest waits coaster-wise. Everything else should be reasonable.

The 13 maze is a bit like a conga line, which is probably why it takes so long to get through the queue. Root of All Evil's line tends to be a bit slow, too.

Having visited for the first time recently I totally agree with this advice. At a park like BGW where the entertainment and food offerings can be on a par with the rides the day fills up very quickly. Even with arriving at park opening and smaller crowds due to questionable weather, having a Quick Queue save us even 10-20 minutes per ride meant we didn't have to rush to see everything we wanted to.
