Perhaps soon, in Emerson, Ga. A new theme park called Mini America is being proposed for LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center — a planned 1,200-acre mixed-use development in Bartow County. The attraction has committed to six acres at the massive $1 billion sports and entertainment complex. But, it has yet to purchase the land, according to Judy Sparks, LakePoint partner and chief marketing officer. Mini America would consist of 1/25 scale models of memorable buildings and landmarks, such as the Statue of Liberty or the Pentagon, as well as amusement rides. Atlanta and Georgia landmarks would have prominence, such as Stone Mountain, The World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium. The concept is modeled after the Madurodam tourist attraction in the Netherlands. Edited December 11, 2012 by jedimaster1227
cfc Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 TPR visited two similar attractions in China this year: World Park in Beijing and Window of the World in Shenzen. Some of the displays were "interesting."
-Edge of Beast- Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Uhh.. I don't known what to say about this really, haha.
gisco Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 The line "yet to purchase the land" kind of means they are fishing for investors. This doesn't sound exciting to me at all.
Sir Clinksalot Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Six Acres out of 1,200? So pretty much the size of a moderate sized public park then.
RoCo Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 So I guess the "Amusement" area is Vegas? Looks like the Stratosphere Tower over there, or am I seeing things? Here's hoping the High Roller will live again.
