Twister II Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 (edited) Short story: I had an old computer, I got a new one. Now I my parents want to use my old computer and all the applications are still on the old one. And I need to uninstall ALL of them. So, is there any posable way to delete ALL of the files/applications that are on the old computer, instead of deleteing them one by one??? BTW, its a Windows 2000 Edited September 18, 2005 by Twister II
BiCoastal Kid Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 You could just wipe the harddrive and then reinstall windows. It doesn't take too long. It's certainly easier and safer than going through and deleting it all by hand.
Twister II Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 How do I do that? BTW, its a Windows 2000
Nemmy Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 http://www.cyberwalker.net/faqs/reinstall-reformat-win2000/index.html Be sure that you have the OS CDs on hand, because you don't want to be stuck without one.
ShoubraStreet74 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Yeah, best option is probably to format and reinstall, but make sure you have all the drivers of the old computer (usually on the discs that came with the computer). Otherwise you may be stuck without sound/internet/or video drivers and no easy way to get them. Also, know that this method will delete EVERYTHING. That means your wallaper, pictures, programs, everything. Be sure to back up whatever you need to cd or dvd then copy it to the old computer after the formatting.
Angry_Gumball Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 if you don't have exactly the "Windows 2000" CD, chances are, your computer came with a recovery disk like most computers should. If you have either the actual Windows OS CD or the Recovery Disk, then just reformat and reinstall so it's like a brand new computer all over again.
