Sir Clinksalot Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 (edited) For those that don't know, I am a corporate trainer at Blue Cross. For my job I have to get CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) Certified. This required me spending a weekend in Irvine induring 12 hour classes in order for me to do a 20 minute presentation on DVD. This was done last month and it was HELL. The 2nd step is taking a CTT+ exam. Some who I work with have failed the test up to 6 times, and out of a group of 22 trainers only 4 have passed the test the first attempt. I'm proud to say I am #5. After weeks of preperation, maybe over-preperation, it's over. The only thing I have to do now is send in my DVD with my test score and in 4 short weeks I will be CTT+ certified. Now, this stuff isn't cheap. Luckily my company pays for it. The class itself was $1400, they put me up in a hotel and fed me, I got MASS OT. The test was $218 and it's another $180 just to have them look at my DVD. So if you are wanting to do this on your own, better have about $2000 saved up. I want to thank Kristi and the kids for putting up with me through this. Going down to Irvine with me, being bored enough to go to Knott's, etc, etc, etc. Thankfully it's over. And it looks good on a Resume'. Gregg "Get's a cool "CTT+ Certified" jacket now" Condon Edited September 8, 2005 by Sir Clinksalot
Sir Clinksalot Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 I am glad this is over too!! I am very proud of Gregg, he has spent numerous hours prepping and I am glad it is over for him. I guess going to Irvine was worth it we will see when that raise hits Kristi "it always looks good to have letters after your name!" C.
Real Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 The woman mentions "when the raise hits" ha, go figure I found the MASS OT part funniest. Nothing like when the company makes you do something with the knowledge you will get OT and they encourage it. Congrats to the both of you.
Louise Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Go Gregg, Go Gregg!! Well done mate! Lou- "wants letters after her name!" -ise
AllisonY2K Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 being bored enough to go to Knott's, yeah, like you really had to talk her into going. I think she had to talk you out of not going. lol. awesome! sounds like it was difficult to pass so of course many kudos to you for doing it first time.
Justin Adams Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 DUDE! Congrats man, that's awesome. The first time too, way to go. That sounds like a hard test, at least it's over with and you can get on with your life. w00t!
disneygurlz2s Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Congrats Gregg!!! That is awesome and I am sure you worked hard for it. What do you train people to do at Blue Cross? I work for a huge private ophthalmology practice, so the words "Anthem-BC/BS" are part of my daily vocabulary. Shari
Sir Clinksalot Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 ^ I train people everything. Claims, Customer Service, Word, Excel, etc, etc, etc. I want to go for me MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) next.
Chrissie Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Congratulations Gregg! Well done in doing all the hard work! I had 2 do a presentation at Uni today, It was so nerve wracking but well done for doing one for 20 mins!
Coaster Palooza Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Way to go Gregg! Getting certified isn't easy. To get it on the first try is AWESOME!
disneygurlz2s Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I train people everything. Claims, Customer Service, Word, Excel, etc, etc, etc. That sounds great! We are slowly developing a training division for our practice and I am hoping to get my hand in that as I am currently the trainer for our telecommunications system, but we'll see.
