CoasterPrince
Tallest Dueling Trap Door Speed Slides in the World! From the website This awesome new attraction, appropriately dubbed Torpedo Rush, stands a skyscraping 60 tall and offers two identically-designed and simultaneously-launched free-fall drops of joy. Upon ascending the massive tower Guests climb into a clear, fully-enclosed launch capsule to begin the countdown to the most thrilling moment in water slide fun today. As the countdown clock approaches zero and the anticipation of being launched gets the adrenaline rushing, riders will squirm with anticipation waiting for the bottom to rip out from under them beginning a sizzling-fast six-story journey through an enclosed, see-through flume to an explosive splashdown below. From Courier Post Online The park announced it will launch "Torpedo Rush," the world's tallest dueling trap door water slide, in time for the new season starting May 21.The ride simultaneously shoots guests down identical, dualing flumes six stories high. The waiting, however, is expected to be just as thrilling as guests anxiously await the bottom to fall out, beginning a bullet ride through the six-story transparent tube and ending in an explosive splashdown. "The trap door adds a level of excitement not seen in water slides before," says David Dorman, Clementon Park and Splash World's vice president and general manager. "In the typical water environment, the guest knows when they're going to take the downward descent. The (door drops) from under you and you barrel down a six-story silo. It's just about as exciting as water slides get." It'll be the first record claimed by the park since Six Flags Great Adventure's El Toro dethroned Hell Cat as the country's steepest wooden coaster in 2006, Dorman says. Dorman understands the competitive, one-up nature of amusement parks and that Torpedo Rush will someday lose its world title. "Parks are always trying to outdo each other," he says. "But now we hold the record." But Dorman says he and the ownership of Adrenaline Family Entertainment, Inc. are focused on improving their park, which, at 104 years old, is one of the oldest operating parks in the country. Every pool in the water park, including the massive quarter-mile Endless River, is being completely overhauled to look like new. "We're resurfacing and retiling every pool in the water park to give it a feel of new," he says. In addition to new rides, huge new 20-foot shade structures will be installed throughout the water park to provide comforting shade during scorchers. Even the children's ride area is receiving a brand new attraction, the all new Kidzland Castle. "We have spent millions of dollars in the last three years adding to that property," he says. "This is just an example in our commitment to improve this park every single year." The renovations and additions won't mean a price raise but extra value as daily and season passes remain unchanged at $49.95 per person. "It's a deal that simply can't be beat," Dorman says of the $49.95 season passes, adding that daily-pass discounts can be found online. Wolf
The problem with that rendering is that you don't see the stairs filled with people, nor any fights breaking out amongst the patrons.
PSiRockin
Good news, maybe I'll check it out. Now is Hell Cat gets its trims removed or lessened, along with a minor retracking, (isn't there... like 4 four trims on the drop?) the park would be even better. The waterpark was kind of nice last time I went, and it's good to see that improvements are being made. The park was improved a bit with the drop tower added the past season too.
