zztopless
I'm really getting excited about this particular rocket coaster, I'm finally going to Australia next year. A launched Intamin with a sorta SROS ending should be pretty interesting. Glad to hear about theming (dark ride room, etc.) instead of just slapping the name on it. Thanks for the updates, much appreciated. Yeah, I hear ya with regards to the theming. Movie World really do go all out with their theming down here. There is a reason why Scooby Doo (which is a Mack Wild Mouse) gets rave reviews, which will be another nice little surprise for you guys that are thinking about coming here
thunder001
Ok people, just a quick update to say that the surports that we could see in the last picture of the last update are indeed for a camel hump/bunny hill. The track was put into place over the last two to three days and the height of this thing is amazing, to say the least. I will let the pictures tell the story and they should be up on Tuesday or Wensday (US time) as Rabid is taking some more pictures tomorrow after he finishes work. Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we did taking them...
rosscoe
I could be very wrong, but we heard in Melbourne at least, that "Superman" was going to open for the september school holidays....ie 15th sep 2005... That info came from a email, from village roadshow sent back in may this year ( sorry don't have a copy anymore...it came from there monthly send out of whats showing/happening in the world of movies/theme park ) Cause from the way it was written "Superman" opens 1st ( september ), then Shriek 4d" opens 26/12/05... Has heading up that way in oct, just to ride superman..
SharkTums
If this thing really is planned to open in Sept/Oct...I might start looking into coming out for xmas!
djrappa
The opening date did shift back and forth a whole bunch of times earlier this year, unfortunately it now definately looks like being slated for December. September 1st is only a couple of days away and they haven't even finished the track yet so there is NO WAY this will open for september If you were planning on visiting in october purely to ride Superman then you may want to alter your travel plans to avoid dissapointment. I still have no doubts that this will be well open and operating by Christmas though Elissa.
zztopless
Yeah, I think Shrek is opening in September and Superman in Decemeber. Decemeber January are peak summer months down here (proabbly Feb too, Rabid would know more accurately) - so having it open in december would make sense I guess. Having said that, September school holidays are huge, so maybe that is why they are getting Shrek ready to open in a couple of weeks. From what I have been told, most of the ride system for Shrek has been installed... Edit: Slightly off-topic, but it get mentioned on our boards recently and I think a lot of people agree. I really hope movie world upgrade the ride program for Batman the ride (motion simulator). The CGI program they have in there at the moment, whilst enjoyable, could be so much better. thunder001
We can only hope that the ride will open before December, as I will get to ride it before I have to go back to the bush for X-mas with the family. At least I will get a lot of golf and fishing in for a week. The new update will have some picts of the tophat, Camel Hump and of the track going into the building after the Camel Hump. Hope to have them up in the next 24hrs for you all to enjoy.....
rosscoe
I sent "Movie World" a e mail asking about both rides, and was told "Superman" was not opening till some time December. As for "Shrek" (which i will spell right this time ) was told there was no news that they could tell me about...So no point me heading up there in October..
