danandjackie Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Newb? about credits... Is it just like 1 credit per ride or is there some mysterious formula for different types of rides... Danny
DenDen Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 or, for even more clarity... 1 coaster=1 credit. "Ride" can be construed as "the action of riding", as opposed to "the actual ride". If you RIDE a coaster 100 times, it's still only one credit.
Guest Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 If I just counted Phantom's Revenge alone I would have like 1600 credits, lol! Katie, only at 137.
Canobie Fan Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Some people also count racers as 2.. 2 tracks 1 ride.. 2 "points" or whatever...
Guest Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I rate racers as the following: Dueling: 2 credits one backwards and one forwards: 2 credits two track racers: 2 credits moebius: 1 credit Katie
DenDen Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 moebius: 1 credit Katie So, if you only ride one side, is that only 1/2 credit?
BarryH Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I have 3 rules: 1.) 1 track = 1 credit 2.) If it appears on www.rcdb.com, it's a credit 3.) Fair and carnival rides count once per carnival operator
CoasterFanatic Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 So, if you only ride one side, is that only 1/2 credit? Yes. In my eyes, if you only ride one side of the Kennywood Racer or Grand Nat, that is the equivalent of exiting a ride at the mid-course brake.
USRoadTripper Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Yes. In my eyes, if you only ride one side of the Kennywood Racer or Grand Nat, that is the equivalent of exiting a ride at the mid-course brake. Ahh...VERY good point! Eventhough it's one continuous track, if you only load on one side, there is still more track you haven't ridden on! Good thing I rode both "sides" of Kennywood's Racer! -Julie
Canobie Fan Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 3.) Fair and carnival rides count once per carnival operator Some people... (like me) dont even count fair coasters at all.
danandjackie Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 Thanks, I got confused because in a photo trip report one of the captions had a ride saying "thats 2 credits" ... Im easily confused I got confused last week trying to work out why Grand National drops you off on the opposite platform to the one you got on at..Even after videoing the whole ride I still dont get it
rollermonkey Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Sadly, Steeplechase was closed when I went to BPB, and I was a newb when I rode Soapbox Derby Racres, so I missed out on SEVEN credits at only two parks! Chris B
