davisal771 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) Well, I've finally found the time between all the homework, stage crew, forensics and science to make a new coaster It's a launched X-car, made in newton2. Elements that it has so far: 60 MPH launch into Heartline roll 180* High speed turn into 90* banking into Zero G roll Dipping Corkscrew Diving loop with a little surprise PICS! Your journey begins! Launching into the sexy heartline roll High speed turn! Zero GEEEEEEEEEEE "I was just in ZERO GEEEEEEES" The "dipping corkscrew" (Becuase it dips...) This is the little surprise into the loop; A nice little pop of air And finally a nice Diving Loop. Edited March 29, 2011 by davisal771
davisal771 Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 A little update for you guys tonight, I haven't had much time to work on it tonight. I fixed a small clearance issue from the diving loop, and I added a standard vertical loop and a new element, I call it the "Hanging Immelmann" Pics! First a sexy POV of the first heartline roll Vertical loop, pretty standard. See... It's hanging! Hangity hangity!
davisal771 Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 I just woke up a few hours ago, so I'm going to get started on some work soon! Prepare for an update!
AJClarke0912 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 What's up with your ground? The texture's all funky looking. Anyway, I'm interested to see how you pull off this ride. The inversions are certainly strange (in a good way), so it's a good way to try out your Newton skills. I like your Straight Geometry-based roll after the half-loop...it adds some "unpredictable" lateral G's that are definitely welcoming.
davisal771 Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 Newton is being stupid right now and keeps crashing on me. I don't have any pictures, but I can tell you that there is an additional zero-g roll added, then after is a brake run followed by a launch into a tophat (unrealistic, I know, but I wasn't going for realism.)
davisal771 Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 I figured out what was wrong (Newton2 is a flipping resource hog) and I got some more work done! Now, on the unnamed X-car: A swift zero-g roll coming going right into a short brake run. After the brake run you head into a super amazing 100 MPH launch into an outside top hat! This X-car pulls an amazing 5.5g for a split second as you head up the 350 foot hill! This is the tallest and fastest ride of its kind anywhere! Pics! Second Zero-GEEEEE roll. Super brake run slows the cars to a slow pace, heightening the suspense before the launch ZOOOOOOOOOM! 100 MPH! Heading up the colossal hill 350 feet up... You get some great airtime up here! Going down! Overview thus far.
AJClarke0912 Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Haha, I can tell this is a "make-it-up-as-I-go" ride. Very unique though; interested how you'll pull off the final package.
davisal771 Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 ^ It most certainly is made-up-as-I-go! It is unique, but it couldn't be made in real life, unless we come up with a fail-safe launch. But that's fine, I never really go for realism anyway
davisal771 Posted October 13, 2010 Author Posted October 13, 2010 So if Newton2 hadn't been such a bitch to me lately (crashing and not responding) I may have been able to get something significant done But... It was being a bitch to me, so nothing significant was accomplished. I managed to make the second zero g roll a bit more zerogee like, but that's all.
davisal771 Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 Alas, this project isn't dead yet! Thanks to some convenient school scheduling, I'm going to get started on this. For now, I've removed the top hat, it's just too unrealistic and unfeasible to work. Look for more updates!
davisal771 Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011 Finished the trackwork. After removing the Top Hat and implemented an overbanked turn into a break run, followed by a barrel roll back into the station. The stats on the now completed trackwork: Top height: 165 feet Top speed: 60 MPH Elements: 60 MPH launch into Zero-g roll Zero-G roll Corkscrew Diving Loop Vertical loop Immelmann with hangtime Zero-G roll Barrel Roll. Pics! OverBanked turn Navigating the barrel roll Drop from brakes into the roll
davisal771 Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 Ok, so now I'm working on the supports, I'm not really going to try to mimic any real life x-car supports, I'm just going to do my own style supports. I'm hoping for a final release by the end of the weekend Forgot to mention that I lost the Newton2 file in the process of transferring to my new computer, so the ending of the coaster is handworked, though it's not that bad.
lakeparks Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I really can't say how I like it since my eyes are glued to the no supports. But, all No Limits coasters start that way, so it is fine. I like the green!
davisal771 Posted March 26, 2011 Author Posted March 26, 2011 I've got a good portion of the ride supported. They aren't really unique supports by any means, but they get the job done.
davisal771 Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 Particle Accelerator is now complete! With 8 amazing inversions: 2 Heartline Rolls 2 Zero-g rolls A dipping corkscrew Diving loop Vertical loop and a hanging immelmann Particle Accelerator is the ultimate thrill. Also, link to Game Exchange page.
davisal771 Posted April 2, 2011 Author Posted April 2, 2011 Also, a link to the nolimits-exchange if you want to rate there: http://nolimits-exchange.com/coaster/3449/particle-accelerator
