chadster Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Did a quick search, didn't see anything on this, but Cedar Fair pre-sale season is around the corner (Worlds of Fun over Labor Day Weekend) and they've slightly upped the cost of the plat pass by 5.00. Not that big of a deal especially if the rumored cheap/free drinks comes to light. I'm not sure of how many platinum passes they sell in a year, but don't see that increaseing their bottom line too much when looked at on the grand scale, but every penny helps to pay down debt I suppose. The cost of the regular passes for 2011 look as if they will remain the same. Not seen anything yet for Six Flags.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Recieved a flyer for KD season pass renewal & they're having their labor day weekend sale on renewals which works out well for me as I plan to visit the park on sunday the 5th.
thrillrider Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 $5 is not that big of a deal, but compared to six flags they are quite expensive passes to have.
KI Kidd Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 King's Island announced today that 2011 Season passes will start at $69.99 - more than $10 less then this year.
sixflagsguy5 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 It really isn't that bad for either chain. Six Flags with parking is about $130 (at SFGAM at least) and Cedar Fair is usually around $150 if you get it early. Cedar Fair passes are even cheaper if you plan on just going to your homepark, so I'd say it's a good deal. No matter what the price, the people who really want the passes will still get them.
slither37 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 There is a coupon in the Entertainment book for 10.00 off platinum passes. At least there was last year, would assume it would be back this year. I think it was good for up to 6 passes. Using this last year for my daughter and I just about paid for the Entertainment book. Just an idea.
chadster Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 $5 is not that big of a deal, but compared to six flags they are quite expensive passes to have. I agree they are more expensive, I paid 105 this year, and in 2011, knock of 20% for visiting 5 times (i just hope they don't raise the price 20%, lol) And in the grand scheme, SF's doesn't have much in the pipe for new attractions, but, they are re-themeing, and revamping old rides and cleaning up a bit which you have to give them credit for.
