CorkscrewFoley
Dave, great job in the pics department! This is what I love about Disney Parks, there's so much to do, and it seems like there are hidden things to see and do all over.
ebl
Maybe they should call it "Epic-cot." Â I really like Epcot; the World Showcase in particular. It's hard to believe that in just a couple of months it'll have been four years since I was last there. Time to go again. Â Dave, have you been during the International Food & Wine Festival in October? If not, I highly recommend it. Thanks for sharing your pictures and experiences. I've been enjoying it. thrillrider
^Yes, but it's been a few years. Â They almost had to roll me out of there because of all the great food. There was more food than an ACE buffet.
mcjaco
I don't recall American Adventure having anthing to do with politics. Â Disney steers well clear of that.
thrillrider
It's all government/ politics based. Mostly about the constitution. Â With all the great things in this country, I am baffled why they did not go for another angle. If you look at any of the other shows at epcot, none are based on this. They all show off all the beautiful things in each of the countrys. Â Don't get me wrong, it's a good show,I just wish they did it differently. BeemerBoy
I've never found either of Disney's political offerings (American Adventure, Hall of Presidents) to be anything but a glossed-over history of important historical landmarks. Besides, I'm kind of glad they went with a subdued exterior look for the home country's pavilion. Disney, itself, screams "America," so anything too extensive would just be overkill, to me anyway. Â Either way, I enjoyed looking at the pics.
bean.zilla
I went to WDW last in 2005 and am planning another trip. It doesn't look very crowded in the pictures - did you find the wait times were pretty good?
thrillrider
The next country up is France. Â France is a relatively small pavilion compared to some of the others, but they pack a lot in with the space they have. France is a very well themed area. Beautiful landscaping. And the food.......... They have a short movie about france. Waiting room for the show. The view of the lake from france. They have some neat street shows in france. France also has a lot of shops. Forgot to add this picture of the show theater in france. The detail that Disney has put into the buildings is great. The french restaurant. It has some really great food. Next update....England. The last trip we made was in feb during a cold snap in the weather. So the crowds were a little lighter. Â We tend to go in sept or oct a lot, when the crowds are lighter. I would have thought that with things like the grand canyon, yellowstone, smokey mountains, great lakes...ect..ect, that there would be something like that in the show. thrillrider
Next up, we have the United Kingdom. Â This area does not have an attraction, but there is shopping, meet and greets, and beer. There is also a few places to eat, like a fish and chips stand, and a pub with a good selection of beer and a full menu. Â The only entertainment this area offers, is a beatles tribute band. They are actually really good. Â This is a small update, as there is not much but some shops and the restaurants. Today, I bring you the United Kingdom. My daughter loves this area, because of the meet and greet. They have a fish and chips counter service, and a restaurant. Another meet and greet area. They also have lot's of shops. Not sure what this was for, but it was nice. There is a gazebo area that has a beatles knock off band. They were actualy pretty good. If you want a good beer, and a meal....this is the place to go. They have phone booths in case you need to make a call. The next area will be of Canada.

That was great because it was still warm enough in September to go to Blizzard Beach, but we walked right on some of the rides. And Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween parties were starting the day after we left so we got to see some of the decorations.

thrillrider
Oops..I forgot these pictures. I think this is where the boat shuttle from one of the resorts comes in. The bridge from France, to the united kingdom.
thrillrider
Time for Canada eh. Â Canada is the last country in the world showcase. There are some shops, restaurant, a movie, and a live band called "off kilter", that is really good. Canada. There is a lot of landscaping in canada. Probaly more than any other pavilion. It's the batcave. Actualy, it's where the canada movie is shown. If you want a good steak, this is the place to go. It is very hard to get a reservation to this place. Cool looking buildings. Another view. The view of the globe from canada. There is a large garden that you can walk thru. We decided to eat dinner here. We have ate here a few times, and is still one of our favorate restaurants at epcot. The entrance to the steak house. The restaurant is themed to a wine celler. The food was so good, that I forgot to take a picture of the food before I ate it. I got the chocolate moose for desert. My friend got the smores. My friend Jason and his wife joined us. Off kilter band. The show in canada. On the way to the show, we checked out a few of the shops. There are a few shops tucked away in the back. There is a show in there somewhere. Yayyy......found the show. The waiting area for the show. It's another one of those shows that you have to stand to watch. The show is a circovision show. They kept noting that Martin short is from Canada....Not sure I would be too proud of that. One last look at off kilter. Ant band that can play led zepplen as good as they did, deserves props. Next update will be the rest of epcot, and a ride in the front of the monorail.
thrillrider
A few pictures I forgot. They have fiber optic lighting in the cement. A look at the globe. I forgot all about the restaurant in Italy The waiting area. The dinning room. Too bad the food was not as good as the theming.
thrillrider
News..... Â It looks like epcot will soon have a 12'th country in the world showcase. ebl
At one point, the World Showcase was supposed to get a Swiss pavilion, and it was going to have a Matterhorn bobsled ride as its main attraction. That would have been great. Â Eric
thrillrider
There were a few different pavilions that were/are on the drawing board. I know that russia is another pavilion being considered. Â I hope they add some sort of ride to spain. The world showcase needs more rides, even if it's just a boat ride like mexico or norway. thrillrider
More epcot pictures. Â This time, I have more of the front of the park. Innoventions The seas with nemo. Night time nemo and friends The switchbacks for nemo. There are some great fish displays in here. The aquariums in this place were huge. Lots of fish I found nemo!!! Random weird looking fish. As you can see, the place was dead. Look...people!! Is it just me, or does nemo look stoned? In case you forgot where we are. Due to the weather being so cold, they had to cover up a lot of the flowers. My daughter trying to pet the fish. She found nemo also. This is one of the main attractions in the sea pavilion. Next, we went over and waisted our time doing this. We got to stand here and watch kodak commercials for a half hour. We had more fun playing by the fountain, than hista. My daughter loves the jumping fountains. Journey into imagination. Journey into imagination track porn. There are a lot of interactive things to do at the exit of the ride. Before we left epcot for the day, we hit test track one more time. Anybody need a knee adjustment? I always found it odd that there were 3 seats instead of 4 . Since it was so cold out, the heat felt good. not so much the cold... My daughter loving the ride. The area just outside of test track. Back at pop century, here is a picture of the food court. There is also a gift shop. In the next update, I will have pictures of a front car ride on the monorail, and a keys to the kingdom tour.

thrillrider
I have read several articles lately about this. When I am not being lazy, I will look for them. Â I know this rumor has been going around for a while, but it's really picked up momentum the past few months. One of the articles I have, has concept art for the spain pavilion that has a date from late last year on it.
mcjaco
^ Trust me, I'm sure I've read the same things. Â The Spain rumor has been off again/on again for years. I have artwork of the original signage that went up, during my first visit two weeks after opening. Along with Equatorial Africa and Israel. Â I have to remember to add some of these pictures to the Park Index. There's some shots of areas we don't have yet.
