CCI Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) Robb Why do you ban people that don't agree with you opinions? Like old I305 was the best and the new one sucks? why? MOD EDIT: No one has ever been banned for disagreeing with Robb or Elissa. Bans occur when people act like asses and don't treat others with respect. There are plenty of instances where the casual readers might see a differing opinion on the board, but don't see the rude and nasty IMs, PMs and e-mails that get sent to the moderators and the site owners when they poster is asked to tone down their attitude. Everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as it is presented in a civil manner. However, repeating one's opinion ad nauseum when asked not to becomes an attitude problem. If someone wants to bicker back and forth do it on a another site. The moderators don't always agree with Robb and Elissa either, but we do present our opinions in a respectful manner. Vekoma Fan Boy Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Because having your opinion is one thing, but continually being rude to the site owner over something completely different. Plus its just FUN to ban people! (I've modded/admined a few forums myself) Thats just what I think... Robb, please correct me if I'm wrong!
Hercules Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 ^ Saying that it is just fan to ban people is just totally immature, and I'm sure it does not come close to reflecting the views of Robb, Elissa and the moderators of this site. I think that Robb has done a great job stating it is fine to have opinions as long as they are presented in a way that is respectful, and in a fashion where it is not said as a fact. An opinion is an opinion. The only people I have seen banned from this site have been total jackasses.

I was just making fun, obviously R&E and the TPR staff don't go around and ban everyone just for fun. I just meant sometimes it can be satisfying to feed the "total jackass" to the bantron. Theme Park Review maintains a very high quality standard with both posters and staff, and that is why it is the ONLY theme park website I regularly post on. To be truthful, I have only seen one website come even close to matching TPR as far as quality, that being www.therailwire.net. (I do believe I have seen mcjaco on there too, coincidentally) Anyway, I am going to butt out of this thread before I say something (else?) stupid and get myself banned!
mightbeawannabe Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 ^I believe it was because that user didn't really comply to the grammar/spelling rule and giving a poor excuse not to use the keyboard in front of him when asked to stop. I don't know for sure though.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 ^^I would call not obeying forum rules a fair reason to be banned.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Would you not ground your kid for not doing chores if he said "Sorry, but I'm just too lazy to do them."? Its the same principle.
larrygator Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 But he apologized! Accused: Yes your honor, I shot and killed him but I'm sorry. The blood ruined my best shirt. Judge: Case dismissed
