I just got back from Six Flags Elitch Gardens.

We didnt stay. Long from 10 to 12, but enough time to get a lot done.

People in Park: 50

Rides Open: ALL

We got there early to the LOUD sound of the Grand Prix across the railroad tracks in the Pepsi Center parking lot, it was LOUD, so loud you could barly hear your self talk loud.

At 9:45 the gates were open, and letting people into the park? hmm, well, SFEG has now started doing the same as other SF parks, line the employees up and do the Mr. Six dance.

I went on Halfpipe first.

For some reason, it was going really really well, so well that it was hitting the breaks at the top of the spikes. And on each spike once you go vertical its all airtime til you start leveling out again.

Then Boomerang.

Once again, running suprisingly well. And going threw the station the train hit breaks, but still made it threw the entier course. Sence there was no one at the park today, I did a couple of rounds on Boomerang. Each ride was really smooth and forceful enough that there was no banging or any anal rapeage!

Tower of Doom, woohoo, got a new sign! Only 2 sides running. SFEG has a tough time keeping up with Boomerang and Tower of Doom.

Trying to get all the 'adult' rides out of the way I went to Mind Eraser.

Walk on, no one in line. In the queue line the blue awning and fences got replaced with green ones.... umm.... a new speaker system was working. Rough ride, but I found out, if you push your head in the the restraint on the double barrol rolls, you wont get a head ache!

I made my way to Sidewinder.

Once again, it was me and 3 other people on the ride. The ride op was soo cool. He didn't even bother with the PA system for the ride speil, he just gave them as he came to put your restraint down because the Grand Prix was so damn loud! He was probly 17, and funny too. There was a girl(or woman) that got on and wanted to get off, but you could tell she really didnt want to get off, but not crying. He said "Do you really want to get off?", she replied, "yeah", He said "Really?", once again, she said "Yeah" I saw him push the dispatch button. As the train was going out of the station, he finally said, "Opp's sorry can't do that!"

I dont know, it was funny to me. But she did enjoy her ride.

Slingshot got a new sign. Disaster Canyon got a new stero system that works, Twister II got a new stero system that works.

Flying Coaster, nothing new, walk on, same as always, rough, same as always, no clue why I did it, same as always. But this time, it seemed much smoother than usual. A girl I was riding with, who was young, 8 or so, never ridden it, said "I want to get off" after the first inversion, I didnt blame her, I did too, but I laughed and just said, hold on tight.

By this time it was time to go get my cousin from Loney Toons land, he has never done anything really big at SFEG, the bigest? Spider, and came off crying. (He is 6 now BTW), and he took a big step today, he did Batwing! Out lil flying Batman ride.

He wanted to go on Sidewinder, but chickened out. Wanted to go on Twister II (which was closed earlier in the day, that why I never got on it today) but once again, chickened out.

Well the other baby (4) was sick so we meeted at the Feris Wheel at about 11:15, we waited around til about 12:15 for the American Pop show, it was actually really good! The 4 singers were probly no more than 18 years, and they actually sang! But they had a back up track.

We on our way out, and the photo people got 2 photos of me. you can go to http://www.sfeg.photogra.com and put intodays date (15th August) and the codes which I dont have right now and you can see my photo in 3days! Or they wont be up on the site il the 18th.

On our way, out of the parking lot a jet flew above, it was so freaking loud I sware I felt the sound wave rock our van. I about jumped out of my skin.

Photos to come soon! This TR is way to long!

Ok... I still haven't been this season despite having a season pass (yeah I know... Summer got busy... Stupid Summer). Has Chaos really closed... That was my favorite flatride period. I love the ride. If it really is going I'm gonna seriously shed a tear...

I checked today on Choas, CLOSED! Thats crazy, cause its really a good ride.

But HOWEVER

sence Choas is rumored to be removed, that could posable make room for a large flat ride.

Bah... Knowing Six Flags we will get screwed again... They have removed more rides from Elitches than they have added over the past 5 years... Thats sad...

Of course if they put in some S&S flatrides all would be forgiven. Heck if they put in something unique I would be willing to kiss some boot. A custom coaster might mean kissing some crusty boot.

Still I wouldn't bet on it... The rumors on screamscape which have been remarkably accurate have said waterpark again next year... Apparently we might get the Tornado we were due this year initially... WTF was with Edge anyway? I mean Waterworld had that ride back in like 1998...

From Screamscape: "Park News - (8/15/05) Sources confirm that the park’s Chaos ride has been walled off and will be removed. It has already been removed from all of the park signs. "

WHY!!!!!! I mean just the best damn flatride in the park... Every other one basically sucks...

WOOHOO

Thanks Twister II

I believe this park will be on the schedule for next season, that and lakeside

I would say Elitches is pretty good. It would be much better if they kept the coasters in better condition. I mean how long are they gonna leave that one corner of Twister 2 unpainted? Oh and they are getting rid of my favorite flat ride... Grrr...

Honestly if it wasn't for the fact that the season pass is only $50 I prolly wouldn't get it. I mean half of it is insurance in case I go to practically any other Six Flags park where admission is most of $40 if not more. That makes it worth it in my book.

^ Oh yeah, one huge group we are gona have! 2 people! woohoo! lol

Its to sad that people arnt interested in SFEG even tho it really is a good park.

I'll try to make it out there.

So, are there any other people in the denver area who'd want to meet up at elitchs?

Posted

^ Maybe, but I would not want to meet up with a bunch of people from the internet, just not me.

I say their coaster are in good condition (conicdering you havn't even been this year!). All I know is that SFEG has trouble with Boomerang. Ive never seen Mind Eraser down, but with running 1 train empty. Twister II I thought was going to be all redone in new wood, and then repainted.

Well if anyone wants to throw something together for like Sept or Oct I can probably make it. Heck just print out a sign and I'll do everything I can to be there at opening.

Hey. I am a lifeguard in the Island Kingdom and I would like to clear up some of the untrue rumors everyone has. First, Chaos is being removed because the manufacturer has recalled the ride after several accidents at other parks. Next, Twister II remains unpainted because they are re-building the entire thing. Paint exhausts moisture and makes the ride older than it is. If they were to do it all at once, it would cost more then doing it in steps. Within the next couple of years, you will see I am not BS ing you when if you visit the park.

sooo... do you know if we are getting any new rides in the next few years?? I'd imagine a pro slide tornado would be added to the waterpark. But, any new coasters??
