Adventure City Anaheim CA

I am planning a couple of credit runs during my trip to CA next month and was reading up on Adventure City and have one question. Do they require you to be a part of ACE or any other known coaster club to enter without a kid?

According to this report www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=251742#251742 and a couple others from other places they did. But then again a couple other reports from this site doesn't mention having to.

Their website mentions nothing of it so I was wondering if anyone recently went in there without a kid had any problems getting in.

Thanks!

I have absolutely no idea if they sometimes enforce this policy, or if it's simply been retired. However, I can share my own recent experience.

Short answer: I personally had no problems getting in or enjoying the coasters, but haven't heard conclusive info about the supposed policy.

Long answer, in case any of these details help:

I went on a Sunday in March with one other person. There were "decent" crowds and the parking spaces were all taken, but the lines were short. (I was wondering if they enforce the policy based on crowds so they don't let too many adults lengthen the lines.) We had no problem buying tickets and were not questioned at all. We were wearing TPR and WCB shirts and wristbands, and the lady at the turnstiles conversationally asked us about them both as we were entering and leaving. All in all it was a fun experience and a nice quick credit run. We had no problems riding either coaster. The third ride I would recommend is Drop Zone, which is a 45' bouncy drop tower.

If all else fails, at least it's very close to Knott's Berry Farm.

I was hoping my gender and/or age and/or size wouldn't influence people's decisions, but I must admit it probably does. At least I'm one of the ones with the potential advantage, but too bad it doesn't hold true for every enthusiast.

I was preparing to make a friendly 'spiel' about being enthusiasts but didn't have to.

^What parks are you planning to do in one day? Personally we were easily able to do Scandia that day also. Heck, we were even thinking of going to Castle Park. But of course crowds and hours of operation will be different for your visit, so YMMV.

I have noticed certain things women can get by with more than men in the years I've been alive.

How much I do in one day depends on Knotts' crowds that day and how much I get done (either a Wednesday or Thursday). I do not know when I will get back to CA either so if I end up liking Knotts a ton it may be only one of them so I can spend more time there. The way I am figuring is 7-9 hours is enough at Knotts so if I knew I could definitely knock out the credits in 3 - 3 1/2 hours at the three small parks then I will.

Not sure if you did you trip already, but just in case you haven't or anyone else is curious, Adventure City is like less then ten minutes from Knott's and you could do both coasters in like 10 or 15 minutes. Actually on good day you could do the hole park in like half hour, even pet the goats. Depending on traffic, Castle park is about and hour away from Knott's, on a good day could get there in 40 minutes, bad day hour and a half. I've never really experienced huge lines at Castle Park, but they do run summer specials, so you never know. If your only there for the coasters, i would say maybe half hour to 45 minutes if its crowded. Of course if you plan on doing other rides you could spend a few hours there. Scandia is like 20 minutes to half hour away from the castle and that shouldn't take much time either if your just there for the coasters, if its a slow day they usually have just a couple ride ops and you have to follow them around from ride to ride, so it can take up a good chunk of time, because they may not go where you want to go next. Good thing is the they usually have someone working the Screamer and that generally loads pretty quick. If your a real credit whore remember John's Incredible Pizza, you would have to buy a buffet to get in, but if your hungry and you want another credit, it's a good deal. Remember that I live here so your drive times may be a little longer, anyway hope this helps somebody.

^That was annoying at Scandia! (Don't get me wrong, I totally understand that they have to do it, and there were fair warnings so we knew to expect it.) At the Tilt-a-Whirl and Gravitron they switched from one op for each to one op for both. I kept trying to figure out when that op would switch rides, and go to that queue, but somehow I never seemed to get ahead! Finally I decided to go ride some other rides and luckily when I came back there was one op per ride again. Then again they do run those rides on very "family friendly" cycles...not carnival style...so not quite as worthwhile as I might've expected.

I enjoyed Scandia, though! Even though I feel Scandia Screamer is overrated.
