Ok, come Memorial Day weekend. I'll be riding RipCord for the first time, and I need any advice to help myself get ready to ride the skycoaster.

I've been on all the coasters and what-not at Cedar Point. For some reason, the reality of riding RipCord terrifies me to no end, but I still want to do it to say I did it.

So, any advice?

Are you riding with others, or going solo? And if in a group are you larger/smaller then the others?

Largest person gets put in the middle with three people. One of the two people on the outside pulls the ripcord.

I'm pretty tall, so I've only pulled the cord once. But I find it easier to be the person in the middle, and not having to worry about pulling the cord. Just gotta hold on and enjoy the ride.

Skycoasters are an incredible rush, and you'll be happy you did one. But the pull up can be pretty freaky.

Depending on how busy they are, you could possibly get put into a group with a couple strangers.

That could be an option if you don't want to ride alone.

I used to work on a Skycoaster and can easily say that going by yourself was so much more fun than with a group. You might not swing as high, but the feeling of falling by yourself is just something else.

Just don't think about it and you'll be fine. Enjoy the view as you're going up and have a great time.

^ Agreed. I've done quite a few solo flights and it's a lot of fun on your own. Although nothing beats going with 2 other really good, crazy friends, but if you're on your own, it's just as good of a time!

I think you just need to tell yourself that no matter what happens, you're going to come back alive so just enjoy it!

It's a giant swing set. That's it! If you loved to have fun on the playground swings when you were a kid, this is the grown up version of that!

I finally did a Skycoaster alone last year 10 years after my first time on one and it was definitely an entirely different experience! Everything seemed better solo except for not getting to share the fun with anyone else!

Bump Bumpity:

I'm about to begin my 2nd day at Cedar Point this weekend, and I did RipCord.

It was a fun and thrilling ride, thanks for all the advice everyone! It was a great idea and even one of my friends did it with me.
