CreativeForce Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Hi all So my wife and I are going to DLP for the first time this June and I was wondering if anyone has any comments on the following three hotels: Santa Fe Cheyenne Sequoia Lodge My biggest question is if the Sequoia Lodge is really worth the extra $125 a night? We're pretty much just in our rooms for the evening to sleep in, so we don't need a bunch of amenities in the room. Thanks everyone!
SharkTums Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 ^Sequoia Lodge is only worth the gamble if you're really set on having Air Conditioning. Robb and I have stayed at all three of those and they're all fine. Santa Fe and Cheyenne are like a WDW Value, and Sequoia Lodge is eqivalent to a WDW Moderate. It's about a 10 minute further walk from Santa Fe and Cheyenne to the parks then Sequoia Lodge. Really if you ask me the only difference is gambling on the AC issue.
cfc Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I had no issues with the Santa Fe during TPR's Europe Trip, and the walk to the parks was rather nice (especially through the "Old West" of the Cheyenne). The breakfast at the Santa Fe is pretty basic (croissants, cereal, fruit), but that was OK by me.

The only issue I had was the disasterously slow-in check-in lines at Santa Fe. If I recall someone had a little trouble distinguishing between the bathroom door and the hotel room door. Groteslurf Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I agree with the other comments. The rooms in the SL are a little bit bigger than the other 2 hotels, and there is a swimming pool in SL, but since you want to spend as much time as possible in the parks, the only real difference is the AC and the fact that SL is a little closer to the parks.
manakin Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 well, SL worth all that extra money, rooms are very nice and all the hotel is beautifull. but in june you will surely spent more time in the parks, so I suggest you the cheyenne. I tried both cheyenne and sequoia...these two are very different, but for summer cheyenne is better in my opinion... ps, sorry for my bad english
Kingtravel Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 We stayed once at Cheyenne in 2009 and hadn’t any trouble during our stay. The hotel theme was look really beautiful. The restaurant was noisy however it has good variety of food and amenities. I really love it and would like to recommend you to. Best Regards,
robbalvey Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) I would echo exactly what Elissa said although I prefered Cheyenne *slightly* over Santa Fe due to it's location and better offerings in their restaurant. --Robb Edited May 14, 2010 by robbalvey
