Wes Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 So a little while back, our department moved cubicles. During this, we had to pack up all our crap. One day, my boss discovered this translucent blue office item with Post-It enscribed on the top. We could not figure out what the hell it is supposed to be or what logical purpose it serves. We've tried looking online but we can't find any record of this item existing on 3M's site nor any office supply store. The most logical guess is that it's supposed to hold paperclips and small things in the middle compartment, but then why would it have a top that you had to take off to access it, making it really inconvenient. For now, it's a General Grievous holder. But seriously, what the hell. I guess you can put small paperclips in the middle section...but what's with the side areas? WTF IS THIS?! You can take it apart and....we don't know for sure. It's too small to fit regular Post-It Notes inside! Here it is in it's together form.
ebl Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 I have two of those on my desk exactly like yours. One time, I'm going to shoot a TR of my day at the office and I'll be sure to include 'em! Eric
Token Yankee Guy Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 you know what it looks like. It looks like it holds the Post-It Flags. http://www.3m.com/us/office/postit/products/prod_ft.jhtml What do you guys think?
Kroger8 Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 It sure does hold the Post-it flags. My mom has one on her desk at work. You put three different color flags in there and pull them out. The middle compartment doesn't hold anything (well I guess it could...) you put the little black flags in the three compartments on the sides of the base and put the top back on.
Wes Posted August 11, 2005 Author Posted August 11, 2005 Ahhhhhh...thank you all for your replies. 5 people in the office will be really happy to know what the eff this thing was meant for.
DenDen Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 It doesn't hold post-it flags, it holds 3 tablets of fan-fold post-its. http://www.3m.com/us/office/postit/products/prod_notes_pu.jhtml You use it for multi-colors.
AllisonY2K Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 fan-fold post-its, post-it flags. eh..we can always make it a poll and debate the subject. that would be a TPR first. office supply debates. lol.
Wes Posted August 11, 2005 Author Posted August 11, 2005 It doesn't hold post-it flags, it holds 3 tablets of fan-fold post-its. It's not big enough to hold that size of Post-Its.
dandaman Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 ^^ Hey, we're hitting new lows every day... odds are, that idea won't be far behind.
DenDen Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 It doesn't hold post-it flags, it holds 3 tablets of fan-fold post-its. It's not big enough to hold that size of Post-Its. Was just showing the fanfolds, they come in multiple and custom sizes for promotional products.
