Hey all, I didn't seem to find a topic that quite fit this, and if there is one I am sorry in advance, but I am going to Cedar Point for my first time! We are leaving from Hartford and arriving in Cleveland on June 13th. We are staying at the Hotel Breakers until the 16th so we have three solid days in the park. I have a few questions that I can't seem to find the answers to so thanks in advance for your help everyone!

1) What are the wait times usually like on weekdays in early June?

2) What would you suggest as a strategy for early entry?

3) What are some good restaurants at Cedar Point?

Again, Thank you for your input!

1) What are the wait times usually like on weekdays in early June?

-I can tell you this. I went on a Saturday in mid-July, and still got on everything with multiple re-rides in a single day with time to spare. You having 3 days, you will have plenty of time and I wouldn't expect anything to have over an hour wait. (Besides Shoot the Rapids)

2) What would you suggest as a strategy for early entry?

Go to Millenium Force, or Maverick. Top Thrill Dragster doesn't get as long lines as the other two.

3) What are some good restaurants at Cedar Point?

-There is a Famous Daves BBQ on the Marina that we eat at all the 4 times I visited Cedar Point. You just need to get the re-entry stamp when leaving the park.

Hope I helped! Somewhat...

1. If it is anything like when I went on a weekday in late August, nothing had that long of a wait except for Top Thrill Dragster, which took two hours (mainly due to four rollbacks and a temporary closure to transfer a fifth train onto the track), although I can't speak for Maverick and Millennium Force since we only did those during early entry. If I remember right, Magnum and Mantis were both around 45 minutes, Wicked Twister and Gemini were about a half hour, Disaster Transport, Raptor, and Wildcat were 15-20 minutes, and everything else was around a three train wait (except Blue Streak and Corkscrew were walk-ons). We managed to do every coaster and a number of non-coaster rides in one day, so you should probably be able to hit every ride in the park with a number of re-rides in three days.

2. When we went, we entered at the Magnum entrance and went directly to Maverick, then went to Millennium Force. Maverick took about five minutes and Millennium Force took around twenty so I would say this is a pretty good strategy.

3. Can't help much here. We just got Subway for lunch and went to the TGI Friday's at Castaway Bay for dinner since we were staying at that hotel.

We visited CP end of May 2 years ago.

TTD wasn't open yet during early entry time so we rode MF and Maverick, because both had much longer lines (approx 1 hour) during the rest of the day.

TTD during the day had 1 hour wait. Front row even took us 90 minutes.

Magnum and Mantis had 30-45 minutes waits during the day.

All other coasters were walk ons.

We went to ride TTD again during the last hour before closing and managed to ride it 3 more times in 1 hour. Waiting line stays open till the park closes so we got our last ride of the day with a 5 minutes walk.

Don't really remember what we ate during our visit.

Weekdays in early June aren't too bad. I've done it a few times. The biggest waits will be for MF, TTD, and Maverick...about an hour each (maybe less). Raptor...perhaps about a 20 minute wait. Mantis ranges from 30 minutes to walk-on. Magnum, Gemini, Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew and Wicked Twister are usually walk-ons during that time. However, there can be a lot of variation during the week, depending on how many school groups are visiting. It can easily range from low crowds to surprisingly busy.

As for Early Entry, I would suggest going straight to Maverick, riding that for the first half hour, then going to Millennium Force. While MF is my favorite ride in the park, it can be annoying if you're a front row rider like me. The last few times I've been, I have been the first person to run to the ride, only to find others already in the queue (who obviously go right for the very front and back). I wait for the front, only to hear the announcement that they won't dispatch the train until it is completely full. Unfortunately, most are at Maverick, requiring a wait until the Maverick people drift over to MF. Maverick, on the other hand, has very quick dispatches, allowing for many rides until you finally decide to head to MF.

Finally, where to eat. As has been mentioned before, you can't go wrong with Famous Dave's. It's right across the street from the marina (Millennium Force) entrance. I'm a sucker for BBQ, and their ribs hit the spot when I have a big coaster appetite. That's all. Have fun at the Point!

I went during pretty much that exact same week last year and crowds weren't too bad. Maverick, Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster were about an hour (and Raptor at times) but everything else was walk on to 30 minutes.

Early Entry didn't really work for me. Maverick and Millennium Force were testing the entire time, so only Raptor and Iron Dragon were open. I ended up just waiting in line for Top Thrill Dragster so I would be one of the first on when the park opened.

Unfortunately I can't help you with early June I go every year the third week in May (the first week Kings Island is open, 2 days at the point and 2 days at Kings Island) but when I go never more than 20 minute wait with the exception of Top Thrill Dragster usually 45 min+ (a tip for TTD, when it breaks down and it WILL break down just stay in line, people get tired of waiting and leave and the line keeps moving as if it isnt broken down). I always stay at Hotel Breakers so for early entry using the rear hotel entrance you are close to Maverick so hit that a couple of times then follow frontier trail to Millenium Force to finish out your ERT. As far as restaurants I always hit Joe Cool Cafe, it's sit-down table service in AIR CONDITIONING. They have a full menu and the price is reasonable and usually not that crowded, Johnny Rockets is nice for the entertainment but gets real crowded. Hope that helps a little, I remember my first time to Cedar Point now I am there every year you are gonna love it.

Thank you all for posting a response, I just printed out this page I am really excited to hear that wait times are not too outrageous and I thank you for your tips on early entry and eating as it has helped me immensely.

Thanks again,

Patrick
