CreditCrazy
Since I make a PTR at least every month, I thought instead of continuing to post a ton of little threads I'd make one big one to post them all in. _____________________________________________________________ So to start the thread off, here is a PTR of my lastest park visit. I went to Holiday In The Park at SFDK on Sunday and it was a hella good time. The weather was pretty cold but I think that scared people away as it was pretty much empty! I rode Medusa seven times, Roar five times, Roadrunner once, the Sled Hill twice (closest to sledding I've ever gotten), and the Thomas Town train once. The park was very nice and clean as usual. Oh yeah, Atem was there too. Fortunately, although it was cold (and supposed to rain), the sun was positioned perfectly making for some nice pictures. More to come. I just couldn't fit my camera through the fence to get a clear shot... Got this from Medusa's station. I had learned my lesson from my ride in July. Atem rode while I took pictures. Fair deal right? I heard him screaming from the ground. Then it was off to Kong. Well, B&Ms sure do LOOK exciting. Okay okay, here is a true Medusa through the trees shot. Medusa...avoiding the trees!?!?!?! Medusa and the moon. Great first drop. But it's still a good ride. I just think it's kind of funny how SFDK randomly sticks a Greek themed ride in the park. Medusa was running nice and B&My. atem122
Holy crap I look awful in that picture LOL (damn coaster hair, I swear I'm 10 times hotter ladies!) please please delete that! Golly, I wish someone would make a video from that day...oh wait, what's this?
cooksta77
You really do know how to get the great shots CC. But Atem was screaming due to the head banging I bet. Andrew "Great shots though" Iorio
atem122
^I rode it in the freaking front and it still hurt like a biotch! Vekoma can't even perfect smoothness on a simple turn.
CreditCrazy
Part 2 Kong at sunset (forgot about this one too...) Just thought I should throw this in here. Who cares if it's too late? Oh, they had these christmas trees in the stations. Millennium Force's overbanked turn > Tony Hawk's Overbanked turn. Tony Hawk's Big Motion-Sickness-Hater I love sledding!! F*ck you whale! Psh, only GP holds on to OTSR's. And so is the one below it. Unfortunately this hill is very B&Mish. Who cares if I used a puddle for my reflection shot, it worked! Roar through the flowers yeah yeah. Great ride at night, decent ride during the day. Off to Roar. V2 was closed for rehab, so SFDK thought putting reindeer up there would make up for it. They aren't gonna fool me, those reindeer are FAKE!!! Except he liked it...??? Atem rode the other Vekoma alone while I took pictures. And lastly, a look at this poor vandalized Vekoma wheel. Dietcokevan
Woah, you got some nice shots of Kong, too bad it isn't as good on the ride as it is in the pictures. Speaking of motion sickness, I tried playing Call of Duty, and I got motion sickness from it
CreditCrazy
I went to Knott's two weeks ago...but I've been having trouble uploading the pictures to TPR (for some reason I can't get them to the right size, no idea how I did it last time) so here is the PTR with the pictures linked from Photobucket. Montezooma's Revenge - 2 Supreme Scream - 3 Silver Bullet - 2 Ghostrider - 2 Timber Mountain Log Ride - 1 Jaguar - 1 In the parking lot... The fat one couldn't quite keep up Not quite You don't want to know what it looked like for me to get this picture So I took advantage of it and got as many pictures possible Too bad none of them turned out good Where's the other side of the cobra roll? Some zoom HERE THEY COME!!! Oh, wrong ride If you were at Knott's that day and you saw some guy running around Silver Bullet's layout taking pictures, that was me Because you can never get enough pictures of Silver Bullet... Jaguar peacefully passes by Monte was my first ride of the year Hmmmm The Boardwalk is so empty without it Skipped Boomerang But that's just common sense Who rides it anyway? (besides the GP) Is it just me or is the track uneven...? Someone has a belly button piercing yes they do! Demon Drop > Screamin' Swing It's so popular Ghostrider "raped" me, as some of the nerdiest coaster enthusiasts would say Not anymore My favorite part of the ride So then I went back over to Silver Bullet... This was 50% fail Silver Bullet...over the trees...! Back around the park There's this new soccer game thing, fun to watch What Knott's looks like on a Sunday When Perilous Plunge is open in January you know you're in SoCal Supreme Scream at night ftw CATCH CAR!! And that's all for this report, see ya soon Knott's
CreditCrazy
On Saturday, I took a day trip to Phoenix to see a spring training baseball game and go to Castles n' Coasters. It was a long day (5 hour drive each way) but I'm glad I can finally cross those credits off my list. Castles n' Coasters wasn't the best park, but of course, I wasn't expecting much. The place was very small and crammed in with rides, not to mention it was pretty crowded which didn't help. It didn't matter to me, because the park was just a quick credit run, but I feel bad that this is all Phoenix has... First up was Desert Storm. I guess it was a little better than I thought it would be, but it still wasn't really enjoyable. The loops were more forceful than a Schwarzkopf, but they came with a ton of rattle, throwing you around the train. Not the best first Hopkins impression. The trains were cool. On my way over to the other credit, I tried out Sky Diver. It was as close as it gets to an Intamin. This thing drops till the very bottom, and the best part is, you have no idea when you'll drop because the top of the tower is blocked by the car. Can't wait to try out Scandia's new one sometime. Patriot was basically Hopkins' version of a Vekoma Roller Skater. Very patriotic coaster. Not much else to say... Fess up nerds, you filmed a front seat POV. GRASS IN ARIZONA!...not. The log flume looked nice, but I passed. Just didn't really feel like getting soaked in that Arizona weather... Alright...I really just wanted to get out of the place. Daddy, who is that? Just look away. Just a few more Desert Storm pics on the way out. The coaster goes around most of the park, yet it's still hard to get pictures of. Not the best first Hopkins impression. And that was pretty much it with this park...the end. I basically just had this same loop and helix to work with.
atem122
Awesome, you got the pictures working! Pretty nice PTR, I remember going there years ago! ...too bad I didn't get to ride anything. Who'd you see at spring training? And you should post descriptions and links to all of your trip reports in the first post.

CreditCrazy
Sunday was an awesome day. You probably know what the schedule/perks of the day were by now, so I'll just get to the pictures. Montezooma's Revenge - 2 Jaguar - 2 Timberline Twister - 1 Supreme Scream - 2 Silver Bullet - 3 Ghostrider - 3 Pony Express - 1 Bigfoot Rapids - 1 Perilous Plunge - 1 Timber Mountain Log Ride - 2 Calico Mine Train - 1 Started the day off with a ride on Monte. Then it was over to Jaguar for a quick ride before the Calico Mine Train Tour. All of my pictures came out dark and blurry, but it was cool. I was in Group B so I sadly didn't get to see the Glory Hole. While waiting for the Roundhouse Tour, Robb came over to us and said we could see the tour we missed and to definitely check out the Glory Hole...not knowing what it was, I just decided to enjoy the rest of ERT and not worry about it. After riding Calico Mine Train later in the day, I realized what the Glory Hole was. Should have taken Robb's word for it. Boomerang was open! But I passed. Perilous Plunge would have been fun at 8:30 AM. Silver Bullet testing. Rattle rattle rattle rattle rattle rattle Human test dummy! I accomplished something on Sunday. That's right. I rode Ghostrider. In the back. At night. Twice. In a row. These improper sentences are really dramatic. We gave Pony Express a courtesy ride. "Hey man, you know, I rode that uh, the Pony Ride, you know it was AWESOME, just like, it was short, dude. Why?" "That's why it's called Pony Express." - Q&A Having fun in there? I'm sorry I took such a long break from you Silver Bullet. I'm back to stalk you again! "Where ya guys goin?" "Oh just to eat some chicken." Lunch time! I didn't eat there, but the games were fun and entertaining (WATER BALLOON TOSS). We went over by TGI Friday's and got pictures of Ghostrider after lunch. Oh, I guess I forgot to mention how those back-seat Ghostrider night-rides were. Let's just say I got right back on after the ride, something I usually don't do. Ghostrider went from being an extremely painful and average coaster to now an awesome Top 20 must ride! It was seriously smoother in the back, and there was air-time. I love Perilous Plunge. Just about four more weeks! Gotta get Monte in one more time before closing. Sunset at Knott's. Silver Bullet was nice at night. And that's all I have for the event! I miss it already! Thanks Robb! robbalvey
. After riding Calico Mine Train later in the day, I realized what the Glory Hole was. Should have taken Robb's word for it. There is always next year. And now that I've been inside the ride I can certainly make suggestions on how we can improve the tours. And maybe we'll see about adding Log Flume as well! --Robb
nursemelis374
What time did you go on Perilous Plunge and how long was the wait? We were watching it just before the presentation started and the line was crazy and it took them forever to get people through!
CreditCrazy
We walked right on Perilous Plunge right before lunch, so around 12:20. I know what line you're talking about, we were going to go for a re-ride right before the presentation but it looked like at least 45 minutes. It is third best of all the log flumes I have been on after splash mountain and Duddley Do Right. I wish I could have been there, the tours really would have reminded me of what Knotts once was.
