boilerup Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I started playing RCT2 when it came out, but I soon took a break and have recently began playing again...this is my first real attempt at a realistic, full sized park. I chose to go with a Six Flags (yeah I know....) theme, but I have chosen to use influences from parks that I consider my local parks (Kings Island, Kentucky Kingdom (before the implosion), and Holiday World)...I have a few images of the construction so far. Any comments are welcome! I am also looking for the trainer that makes stations and entrances invisible if it is still out there... SCR9.BMP This is the overview of what I have done so far...minus Superman which is out of the screen SCR6.BMP This is the park's carousel and Victorian Style housing and queue SCR5.BMP More of Main Street...including the park's Tilt-A-Whirl and Flashback SCR8.BMP Enterprise and the Six Flags Store SCR3.BMP The park's splash boat ride, Mile High Falls, is an old mill themed ride...there will be a section themed around this ride as well SCR13.BMP Flashback is the park's Deja Vu clone SCR12.BMP This Wild Mouse is Acme themed (thank SFKK)...I know supports aren't the best on this, but I'll work on it SCR10.BMP This is by far the parks premier attraction, a B&M out and back named, of course, Superman: Ride of Steel..it can easily occupy over 100 visitors at any time SCR14.BMP This is the park's entrance and Main Street plaza
boilerup Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 I also know the park itself is rather flat and lacking in water, vegetation, etc...that will come as I move away from the Main Street area and work outwards
thrillrideseeker Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 The park looks great! I think it could use some more plants and trees and such, but thats just my opinion! Ohhh and I love how in a few of the pictures it says "_____ has just broken down" it makes it that much more like Six Flags!! EDIT: After going back and looking at the photos, I would say you have a good amount of plants, and such! Just keep up the good work on the park! ~Matthew
Fat-G Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Looks great, I love all the references to SFKK. Are you going to remove your B&M, send it to a park that already has enough B&M's, not to mention that park already has a stand up, and replace it for a water park expansion too, because then you'll be spot on.
BelgianGuy Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Looks good for a start but it misses refinement, Maybe focus your inspiration more on real life pictures if your going for foliage thats aiming to be realistic,
boilerup Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 Well I was thinking about it, but then I decided that would just make it a little too creepily similar...I may have to do that with some other ride at a later date!
rckrazy06 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Wow this park looks great! Realistic parks are by far my favorite in RCT2, and your doing a great job at it...i love the attention to some details, like for example the splash gaurd on the exit bridge on Mile High Falls(great name by the way). One thing you might want to consider though is trying to vary the path type a bit, the tarmac is kind of a bit repetitive. you can also try changing the ground type under neath the path to give it nice looking border. Can't wait to see more screens!
themeparkologist Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I spy with my little eye...Kings Island/Dominion inspiration!!! Eiffel Tower is definitely the biggest though!
