Six Flags season pass deal

Recommended Posts

I know there's another SF SP thread here, but I'm starting a new one to highlight this limited time deal, OK?

Got a phone call the other day: SF is offering season passes at the standard price, but with a $10 amazon gift card sent along with each card. Details: there is a $5 per order "service charge" per order (not card) which makes this slightly worse than last year's one-day $10-off sale. But nobody's knows if that's gonna happen this year, and a bird in the hand etc. (Standard 4th-class shipping is free.) One rep I spoke with said that the deal is good for new passes as well as renewals, and that the sale will be in effect till the 20th, though another rep wasn't sure what the deadline was.

Order must be made by phone: 1-888-636-0995

I got an e-mail for this offer too. Here was the fine print

*Offer good for the first 4,000 respondents who respond before 12/31/2009. One Gift Card per transaction. The Gift Card is an electronic code that can be redeemed at Amazon.com, subject to the conditions below. If you choose to print your Season Pass voucher(s) yourself, the gift code will be printed on an additional page with the rest of your order. If you choose to have your voucher(s) shipped to you, you will receive the gift code in the mailer with your order

It is valid if you buy your ticket online via e-mail link.

^ ...hmmm...interesting, since that's not quite what I was told. And I'm on the SFDK e-mail list, but didn't get that e-mail. Whatever.

Edit: Whoops. Got the mail, just didn't see it. But the downside is that the online purchase is one GC per transaction, not per pass, assuming you buy two or more passes at the same time. Anyway, given that this deal is now out there, I'm guessing it makes the $10-off one-day sale less likely this year.

I got the call and went ahead and renewed two season passes. There was no tax, which was nice, but there was a city charge for 2.50, and 5 shipping/processing. However, they did put two separate orders for gift cards on my order so I think I will be getting $20 worth. Not the best, but I was going to renew anyway. I'll let you know if I really do get the giftcards.

I have a question regarding buying the season passes.

We plan on buying ours online mid-January with Six Flags New England as a home park. Right now they're at 55 USD, but apparantly it's 75 USD normally. Is this one of those so-called limited time offers that last for months, or will this expire in a couple of weeks (for example by the end of 2009)?

Of course no one knows for sure, but I believe they were like 55 USD last year all year round?

$55 for SFNE is ridiculously good. On Columbus Day I went to SFNE with family I renewed up there because down in Jersey at my homepark SFGADV they were offering $69 Playpass for just the theme park $79 for the park and safari. I think this is as good as it gets with the season pass. Last year's deal was the first week of December. It's that time now. In year's past I've also bought the last day of the year as well. The price was the only promo then.
