Pyro
Well, a friend I are going on one huge trip next year. (Well, at least for us it is) Its basicaly any parks we want to go on the East Coast of the U.S. For us, the must go to parks are Cedar Point, and Six Flags Great Adventure. BUT, We can only go to about 5 or 6 parks, Where should we go. We can easily go to Carowinds BTW, so dont include that. This will be sometime in the summer of 2010. Oh, and we live in Atlanta so thats out starting point. Thanks! -Pyro-
Jerrykoala2112
You could do a road trip from Atlanta, to Holiday World, to SFGAM, Cedar Point, Hershey Park, Dorney Park, SFGADv, SFa, Kings Dominion, then Carowinds, then back to Atlanta... That atleast would be the road trip I would take
VGplay
Here's what I came up with: http://tinyurl.com/ylk5f24 Day 1: Drive up to Kings Island. Maybe spend the evening in the park? Day 2: Kings Island Day 3: Drive to Cedar Point. Half-day in park. Day 4: Cedar Point Day 5: Drive to and visit Kennywood. Day 6: Drive to and visit Hersheypark. (Dorney Park and Knobels are also in the same area. But if you have to pick one, choose Hershey.) Day 7: Drive to and visit Six Flags Great Adventure (with Gold Flash Pass). Day 8: Drive to and visit Kings Dominion. Day 9: Drive to and visit Busch Gardens. Day 10: Drive home. Ten days, seven parks. I realize you said only six, but three are Cedar Fair parks. With a Platinum Pass you only spend $160 on admission for them. Another money-saving option would be to swap Hersheypark for Dorney, which is a Cedar Fair park. Busch Gardens, I think, is such a fantastic park that you do not drive within the vicinity and not visit. I hope this helps.
Pyro
I would pick Dorney over Hershey, due to the fact that I was there in September. It really is an amazing park though. My original plan was Carowinds, KD, BGE, SFGadv, then CP and possibly KI. But, I shall take the others into consideration as well. If we can't raise enough money, we will hopefully have enough for CP and Gadv.

But, if you're willing to fly into one airport and out of the other you could easily do: Great Adventure, Hershey, Dorney, Kennywood, Cedar Point Pretty much in a straight line. And if you have to limit yourself to 5 parks, I think that's a pretty good line up! --Robb
Swimace
^Plus with that line-up you could probably squeeze in Waldameer, it's not far from Kennywood. I did a large East Coast/Midwest road trip a couple of summers ago and we did Waldemeer in the morning (we got there at opening) then headed off for afternoon/night at Kennywood. Pyro
Ok thanks guys. I was thinking that we would drive. Also, We would probably stop at dorney so it wouldnt be straight shot to Gadv.
CreditCrazy
If I were you, I would split Cedar Point and SFGAdv into two trips, and do other parks in the area for each trip. For Cedar Point, you could do Waldameer, Kennywood, Kings Island, Holiday World, Indiana Beach, SFGAm, etc. (depending on how big you would want the trip to be) and then for SFGAdv also do Dorney, Lake Compounce, SFNE, Knoebels, and also go down to Virginia if you want (I left out Hershey since you said you already went). Since it seems like you want to include CP and SFGAdv into one trip, and keep the trip to about 5 or 6 parks, I would drive up to Virginia, do BGW and KD, drive up to PA/NJ, hit SFGAdv, drive over to CP (hitting another PA park on the way, Dorney, Knoebels, Kennywood or Waldameer, depending on what you like most) and drive back down to Atlanta and possibly hit KI or Dollywood. Pyro
Yeah, it would make sense to split them up, but this is like once in a life time thing. I mean, Maybe over the next few years I will go to the other small parks and stuff. But just CP and Gadv are like amazing so... yeah.
scooterdoug
I think Robb's suggestion is a really good one. Last spring/summer, my cousin and I did SFGAdv, Hersheypark, and Cedar Point. The drive from SF to HP wasn't all that bad, but the drive from HP to CP was an all day affair. Kennywood was right on the way, I remember seeing the sign as we drove down the highway. I totally understand your desire to do both SF and CP, that's why I chose the trip I did. If you follow Robb's trip suggestion, you get a string of solid, fun parks that are all on the way...no sidetracking. There will be a lot of driving, but the parks are great! -Doug
