rollercoasterbuff Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Please help clear this up. Someone I know is arguing with me that the security monitors shut off in Maverick's control booth every time a train launches. I refuse to believe that something like this happens. I just don't think that it is practical for any equipment attached to a roller coaster to have power surges. It doesn't seem safe. Also, according to him, there are a lot worse things going on at cedar point. I just don't think he knows much about things. He works on the CP fire department and walks through the park a lot but I just don't see how any of his stories are logical. Cyrus
CorkscrewFoley Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I can't see the monitors shutting off. That just doesn't make sense to me.
Kennyweird Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I know the lights dim slightly in the Racer's station whenever we lock the buzz bars, so I guess anything is possible.
Yamez Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I have worked Maverick this year, in July it did not happen. It does dim slightly when the trains launch, however the monitors do not reset and you can clearly see the train moving.
