astro Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Okay, this is my first ride to put on TPR, so bear with me. It is a dive coaster that blasts through a live erupting volcano! It also has a splash down to cool off the heated train that has gone through the volcano. Enough talk, onto the pictures! SCR1.BMP A train at the top of the lift! SCR4.BMP A set of cars hanging out on the holding brake! SCR5.BMP A train entering the erupting volcano! SCR6.BMP The turnaround, and drop onto the lift behind it. SCR7.BMP A train flying through the splashdown! SCR8.BMP The helix. This is a slow part of the ride, so no major g's are created. SCR10.BMP The final brake run and the station. Thanks for viewing!
dmaxsba2408 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Like the drop into the volcano, did the same thing in my park. The ride seems a bit over sized if that makes any since. I would scale it back in height. Maybe it's just the angles I am seeing it from in the pictures. Either way some times a shorter slower coaster is a better coaster. Just my opinion though.
nin Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 not really feeling the name.. and i do think you should set some time up for learning track merging, so you can add some inversions in there.
astro Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Oh... I'm sorry, I did the first time but my computer crashed so I had to make the post over again. I guess I forgot. Nin, where can I learn track merging? Thanks
Mochtroid Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Hello. This is an okay start, but some thind I'd do are: Make the volcano out of landblocks. The scenery volcano is really bad. Merge some. http://www.coasterforce.com/RCT_2_Hacking_and_Trainers_-_Track_Merging shows you how. I'd zero clearances using a trainer and build through water to create the splashdown.
Thelegendarymatthew Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 ^I don't understand it with you NE guys. You think that hacking is easy to do, especially when the tools used for it are outdated. Plus real coasters don't go through water(besides water) Its ok new guy, don't worry about the advance stuff. The only thing I see a real problem with me is the long pre-brakedrop. It should be a simple turn. Thats all -Matthew
astro Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Okay, Igot the 8 cars per trainer thing and now..... I can't find. What do I do???
dmaxsba2408 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 ^I don't understand it with you NE guys. You think that hacking is easy...-Matthew I agree, its not easy and for the most part NOT NESSECERY! I will never understand what is SOOOO great about everything being hacked. You can make great "unique" coasters without hacking anything. Sorry to get off topic but this everything needs to be hacked to be good is really getting on my nerves. astro, your coaster is fine, there is no need to hack in any inversions.
nin Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 we never said that everything needed to be hacked. we just offered our suggestions as to what he can do with the layout..
dmaxsba2408 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 ^ your right, sorry. I shouldn't have wrote that in such a "jerk" manner. Just in an aggravated mood today. *dmaxsba crawls back to his corner and growls...
astro Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 I am not changing anything because I tried hacking (after I posted this topic) and it took forever and didn't even work, so no point in that.
