Honestly, my first reaction is meh. Sounds like the majority of the theme park sites already out there. Depending on how they do the webisodes those might be cool/unique-ish or very annoying like some of the podcasts floating around. Everything else I can find here (or will in the future. YAY new Park Index when that launches to feature user reviews) or any of the other four or five major coaster sites I can think of off the top of my head.

So, I'm roughly a billion years late responding to this, haha! But I just wanted to say that we're really really humble about what we're doing. Just doing it because we love theme parks with the fire of a thousand suns really. Not to exaggerate...

We don't want to compete with anyone and we're not making any money off of what we're doing. At least, the Park Geeks aren't. I've been a freelance writer talking about travel and theme parks for years, working as a columnist for various magazines covering theme park events. Of course, not as often as I like since I'm in the mid-west.

Like most of you, I grew up obsessed with theme parks, I write about them in connection to my childhood a lot.

But I mostly just wanted to say that we're not trying to come in and take over or anything, just chiming in to a genre that's already pretty diverse. My husband and I both went to school for film and tv production, so it's kind of natural for us to take our obsession to a production format, haha! And we're not claiming to be professional quality in any way yet. We've only done test shoots and stuff for the last year while I kept up my regular freelance. So again...none of us have any intention of stealing anyone's thunder. I don't even think it would be possible!

The idea is actually quite original because although there have been video podcasts like these in the past, there hasn't been a dedicated "channel" that has seperate shows. Now what would really be cool is if some companies got together and started a TV station that broadcasts only theme park related shows and advertising. And hey, if there are hunting channels and horse racing channels, why can't there be a theme park channel?

Anyway, I saw the Magic Kingdom video and subscribed to the YouTube channel. I'm looking forward to more episodes of Park Geeks and I Didn't Know That!

I'm impressed already. With all the sites already out there, there wasn't much assurance from the press release that this would actually pan out to be something worthwhile, but the site looks really good and the shows seem to have a good production value for something you're doing for free. Keep it up!
