Recreation of California's Great America [RCT2]

Before I get started, I remade another sandbox this time being more careful on what rides CGA has and using some of the custom rides (Chair Swings, Flight Trainer-the closest thing to scooters...). I'm taking a bit more time with this park this round just working my way to the back rather than setting stuff up ahead of time only to find it needs to be taken down and redone. So with this said, layout-wise, I've got quite an accurate recreation coming on...I started working on it 8-2-09 and am now at a point to start sharing my progress. I am going a lot by memory and using the park map for a slight reference for making some of the buildings/shops. I may end up taking pictures of them especially over by Vortex (Chicken restaurant, and some of the souvenir shops). So, here's my progress. Do feel free to comment, critique, or otherwise enjoy. I'm hoping that this won't become a 'dead topic' by the way...so enjoy!

1950s area? I forgot the name of this section...maybe still part of Orleans Place? Well, here's Orbit, Flying Eagles, and Fire Fall. Still gotta do the rapids.

And here's Top Gu....Flight Deck! Yes, I know the lake is missing, and the theater is missing. This will all come in soon.

Orleans Place starting to take shape. Still working on the Redwood Amphitheater, and the general surrounding area. All the shops across from the bumper cars are still missing.

Vortex's layout. Still need to custom support this thing once I can figure out how they work...or maybe I'll save a headache of lining things up for now.

Architecture, scenery, and coasters are great-looking.

 

For Columbia Carousel, I feel there needs to be a bit more white/gold, but overall, you did a great job trying to recreate it.

It's lookin cool so far. However, the corkscrew on Vortex goes to the left in real life, not the right. Other than that, it's spot on.

My hard drive is on the fritz, had to get a new one. I'll try to see about extracting this small file, hopefully not all is lost (the drive would refuse to let me copy about 90% of my photos and most of my NL tracks...so I'm not holding my breath for it). I'll keep you guys posted.
