xChris125x
A B&M floorless roller coaster with a layout and pace inspired by Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa. Below are some pictures and a video. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACyttovQVBw Steel Blaze.nltrack
DiSab
I'm loving the look of the layout and the colors. I'll get a review up later today or sometime this weekend - I'm getting sick and too tired to do it now. But from the pics, it looks fantastic. themeparkman25
What a treat! This coaster supplied everything B&M puts into there coasters and then a few extra elements to top it off, fantastic. What I liked: -The layout. It was compact, realistic and very interactive with the rest of the track. The track had all the "necessary" (IMO) elements to be an awesome coaster but the best part was how it just seemed to run loops in itself. Great job. -The colors. I thought they were fun and bright, though not necessarily relevant to steel...on fire...with lazer snakes and horses. I had to put that in there, sorry. What I didn't like: -The pacing. If you look, the immelmann is larger than the loop with the zgr and cobra roll not much smaller. If the coaster was a hair taller it would be able to carry more speed, be a little more forceful and not slow so much on the tops of the elements. -I didn't find the transport wheels on the final brake run necessary. Since the run is a downhill grade, gravity will naturally pull the train back into the station. It's not really a critique, but more of a realistic thing to do I think. Overall this coaster rocked, by far the best one I have downloaded in awhile. Thanks for posting and can't wait to ride more of your works! dr.gumbo
What I liked -The layout was good minus the fact that the first half is the same as Kumba. -The ride is mostly quite smooth. -Sweet track colours. -The pacing seemed quite accurate to B&M rides (which admittedly don't fly around the layout). What I felt could be improved -I felt the heartlining could be improved (you can turn on the heartline in the 'Display' bar) but it wasn't bad by any means. -The pacing could have been a slight bit faster. -The trackwork had a lot of little pumps which could have been ironed out a bit. -The banking could have been a bit better at times, but it isn't bad. -As I said before, the first half is exactly the same as Kumba which I felt was a bit of a let down. -The supports were fine but could be improved quite a bit. My Verdict -The overall shaping was fantastic, but the track as a whole could have been better. 7/
themeparkman25
^That must be why I enjoyed the layout so much! It all makes sense now.
xChris125x
^That must be why I enjoyed the layout so much! It all makes sense now. Partially why I somewhat mirrored Kumba, I love that coaster. Thanks for the input everyone! The transport wheels were kind of necessary even on the downhill brake run, for without them the train crawls around the turn into the station barely making it in. Please explain about the supports. I really try to make them the best I can.
Montupoopc
I really, really liked this. And I don't usually like a lot of NL coaster (due to lack of realism). If I may make one suggestion; I would make the right a little bit taller, and of course the drop longer. This is because you said you wanted the pacing to be like Kumba. The layout is VERY Kumba, but Kumba's speed and pacing is very heavy-metal throughout most of the ride, whereas Steel Blaze floats through many of its elements. Once again, great ride! The Alex
This was great! I agree with everyone else on the positives: - Kickarse, compact layout that interacts with itself. - Realistic B&M style. - Nice colors! I also agree on the bads: - A few pumps. - It feels like it has too much hangtime (too slow in the inversions). - I also think you can tweak the final brakerun as well. Try grading the curve after the brake run so that the brake and the curve are both one continuous grade. This would probably give enough of a downward slope so that gravity could pull the train in the station without transport wheels. - Also, if you pull an Estop after the train crests the lift hill, it will get stuck on the MCBR with no hope of getting back down (unless it's wenched or pushed). Grading the MCBR into a slope or adding friction wheels could fix this easily. GOOD JOB! Best B&M I've seen in NL. I'm looking forward to more.
