Yesterday was the first day of summer for me and we decided to go to Disneyland for a friends birthday. My friend and I got to the park a little later then the other people in our group, and they already had Indy fast passes, and they said they wanted to meet up a little later. My friend and I went on thunder mountain, and we took the advice of the ride op who said stare at the goat after the second lift during the hill, for some reason it made the ride feel very fast at that point. Thunder is my least favorite of the mountains at Disneyland, because it is very family oriented(not that that's a bad thing) but there are three lifts, and very little airtime, in fact, I only got two very small pops. We fast passed Indy on our way out of the park, because we decided to try and go on it later during the day after we met up with the other people from our group.

We then headed over to DCA and waited about 20 minutes for a ride on California Screamin, we were lucky enough to ride in the very back row, and we got some pretty good airtime throughout the ride, even a point of somewhat ejector airtime during the hill after the launch. We then rode tower of terror, and I love it, even though it is not nearly as good as Florida's it is still a solid ride, and is really fun. We then saw the Aladdin show, because it is very good, our feet were tired, and there has been a rumor for Genie was hilarious, and actually joked about pop culture, which was pretty funny.

We then met up with the people from our group in the lobby at the grand Californian because we had never been inside. We then walked to the boardwalk area of the park and took a ride on my favorite flat ride there, the orange stinger, before it is turned into merry melodies swings, we then braved the 45 minute wait for toy story mania, because people from our group had no ridden yet, and we had a fun ride. I am happy to say I beat my friend next to me considerably, although I always win the beaver thing.

We decided to take another ride on screamin, and waited another 20 minutes for it, I rode alone because we were a group of five and requested another ride in the back row, and the ride op said sure, so I got another airtime filled ride. We then took another ride on tower of terror, and we had fast passes, because our friends got them before and because it was his birthday and the majority of people in our group had them we waited five minutes, it was fun to see my friend who had never riddens reaction.

We then went to Disneyland and took the train to the hungry bear cafe. The food there is very good, and you get quite alot, so we were satisfied. My friends had space mountain fast passes for an hour later, so to kill time we rode Winnie the pooh, and took the train to tommorrowland and went on star tours. We then went on space mountain and it was running very fast. It was fun, because I was lifted out of my seat once or twice, and that ride actually gets quite forceful, although I wish there were a few more drops, it was very fun.

We decided to ride the matterhorn fantasyland side(my least favorite side) because all of my friends rode tomorrowland side earlier in the day. This is my favorite coaster at Disneyland, and we had a awesome time. We decided to take another ride on thunder, because it is awesome at night, and even better when the fireworks were on, which they were. After the ride the fireworks were already over, because I believe they shut down due to wind.

We then waited for fantasmic to start, to see the new summertastic show improvements. The show was very good, but I have to ask, there was no dragon during our show, but the witch just got really tall. Is that because of the wind, or did they take out the dragon all together, becasue that was definitely the highlight of the show. We then ride indy, which is always awesome.

On my way out of the park at 11:30 I had a dolewhip for the first time, and it was so fricken good, I think heaven is probably made of dole whip.

Thanks for reading, and have an awesome summer, and expect more tr's / photo trs from me soon.

^The dragon wont be there until midsummer because it's broken (good one Disney ) That was a great TR, although I'm shocked that you thought Space Mountain had more airtime than BTR, I always find that BTR ejects you over some of those hills, while space mountain has zero negative G's. But everyone has their different opinions. This TR makes me wanna make more use out of my Disneyland pass!

I did not say space mountain gives more airtime, but thunder has very little force, and the airtime, while space gives force and airtime. On thunder it does not feel fast when you get airtime, like during the first section on thunder when there is that small drop, you kind of get ejected, but it is not necessarily a smooth moment of ejection. You kind of have to brace yourself. Also, right before the third hill there is a point of ejection, but I always bang my legs on the safety bar, which kind of hurts. The ride is just really force less, even during the tight helix, and it does not feel fast, but space does.

Thanks for reading, and I cant wait to get my pass renewed. I am currently using a summer 3 day park hopper pass, because the 99 dollars I paid for it gets subtracted off the price of a season pass. It really was an awesome day. Also, the dragon thing was hilarious, cause it is new it got a huge intro, and then there was no dragon. The eels were pretty cool though, I loved there glowing eyes.

Has anyone seen the summer fireworks yet?

^You seemed to sum up how I feel about BTM, but you can't expect a dinky little vekoma mine train to be even remotely forceful

Space Mountain definitely can give you a decent fix for force, but I was expecting more negative g's than I got last time I rode (although it was the front seat). And there have been just tons of people who have filmed Magical already, but I'm sure lots of people on TPR have seen it too

I won't even go see Fantasmic! until the Meleficent dragon is up and running reliably, that's the improvement everyone's been waiting to see. I was told mid-July they might have it in the show again.

As for Thunder, I absolutely love that ride and requested to work at it as soon as possible. Disney's coasters are great about theming, not so much the forces. I mean, they're aimed at families not just teens and thrillseekers and I'd say Thunder and Space have a perfect balance of both. That dip through the tunnel halfway through BTMRR is one intense moment! Matterhorn is just INSANE on certain days, it just seems to go faster and faster everytime I ride it, Tomorrowland side, that is...

Give Thunder another try, and appreciate its themey awesomeness.

I prefer BTM to Space Mountain, just because of those quick moments of airtime. And as for the whole Disney no force thing, that's absolutely true. Disneyland is a family destination, not just for thrill seekers. But I'm glad to see that you enjoyed your time at the park, I miss this place so much. And the Dole Whip

I totally love thunder, and it was my first "big roller coaster" but I have the layout pretty much memorized. Also, in terms of theming thunder kicks space mountains ass, but space delivers a much more coasterish ride. I know dsneyland is a very family oriented park, and I forgot to mention that I prefer thunder to space mountain at night, but during the day space beats thunder. Matterhorn beats them all all the time, and the tomorrow land side wants to kill you, there are two death drops of awesome that are somehow airtimish without taking you out of your seat. Also, the layout is nearly imposable to memorize(heck, I've ridden about 50 times on both sides, and I'm not sure where the yeti is until we enter the tunnel) And I love how occasionally you race/duel the other side, it is awesome to have the surprise of another sled rocketing at you.

The fantasmic show is hilarious now, because there was a huge dragon intro(a pretty cool little addition), but then there was no Maleficent's(I'm pretty sure that's her name) dragon.

Here's my Disney/parents rant that I always want to gell parents- Also, parents are so stupid at that show it kind of makes me mad, if you have any child younger than five or six they will flip out at fantasmic, and then I always feel bad for the kids. There was a kid in a stroller behind us having like a seizure throughout most of the show(as soon as the pirate part starts with the loud bang) and the parents pretty much ignored him and stayed through the entire thing. Not every ride at Disney is for kids, cough Tower of Terror cough because some parents are stupid. If your kid is scared of fire and loud noises stick to fantasy land, same thing goes with parents who say hey, there is no height requirement on pirates lets bring our 2 year old who thinks all of this is real, or the peopel who say the matterhorn has a 36 inch height requirement, lets bring our four year old. There a big fricken yeti hiding in the dark for gods sake, in other words parents, dont be stupid. The end.

Does anyone else agree with my rant?, and sorry it was so long, but that was literally what I wanted to tell the mother in line who told her son that the ride was like Gadget's go Coaster, and the mom even went on the more intense/freakier tomorrowland side.

^I remember the first time I rode the matterhorn when I was like 6 I think. The Yeti scared the crap out of me, but I only rode it because my dad would have let me stay at Disneyland longer if I did

Cool TR, however this caught my attention...

On my way out of the park at 11:30 I had a dolewhip for the first time,
Shame on you for waiting so long to partake .

(oh & I totally agreed with your disney/parents rant)

That parent rant is right on the money. People just seem so oblivious when they're at the park, they just want to have fun. If they aren't checking on their kid at least every five minutes, then they're doing something wrong.

Thank you, the ghost, for that report!

We always make fun of General Public comments on this board. Well, it seems like at Disneyland (and DCA), those comments are the most idiotic and hilarious out of any theme parks.

I've heard people asking Splash Mountain and Grizzly River Run cast members "you don't get wet on this ride, do you?". Or they'll ask if Big Thunder is a roller coaster. Or even things like "what time does the 5:30 parade start?"
