Guest Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I was sitting in my room when all of a sudden the windows started shaking violently and a moment later could feel the apartment building start to shake and sway. This lasted for a few moments then the building started shaking violently and I was thinking "holy sh*t!" Though there was prolonged shaking thankfully it didnt get any worse and nothing was damaged, or at least in my area. Got anything to say, say it here.
Kennyweird Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 That's what happens when you live next to a large transform fault. I hope nothing broke.
The Cheat Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Nothing bad happened. At my store a grand total of 2 wine bottles fell.
krouvi Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I hate this feeling. Every time we get one in here I am freaking out. Earthquakes are actually one of my nightmares and I have this dream about a big on from time to time. Hope there are no casualties.
dandaman Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 This earthquake happened tomorrow? Might I propose that the shaking was in actuality a Delorean on re-entry. Preliminary reports peg it as a 4.7 with a 3.1 aftershock. Glad everyone's safe.
KnottsDisneyFarm Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 ^I heard it was an even 5.0. I was just watching Cops, I didn't even get up or anything!
Xpress Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I just figured it was my neighbor in his bathroom. He sometimes gets the shakes...
Sir Clinksalot Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Didn't feel a thing in Ventura County. 5.0 is nothing.
Kennyweird Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 ^The original poster lives in a high-rise apartment, so that might be why he felt it and you didn't.
