CreditCrazy Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 - Castle Amusement Park 4/18/09. - Knott's Berry Farm 4/19/09. Some went to KI for Diamondback. Others went to other parks for other reasons. I went to my two homeparks for completely no reason. Ride Count at Castle Park: Merlin's Revenge x3 Little Dipper x1 Screamin' Demon x1 Dragon Flyers x2 Dragon's Tower x7 Antique Cars x1 Crazy Plane x1 Castle Park Railroad x1 Falling Star x1 Ride Count at Knott's: Xcelerator 4.5x (4 times and a rollback!) Silver Bullet x1 Perilous Plunge x1 Montezooma's Revenge x1 Sierra Sidewinder x1 Timberline Twister x1 (For fun , although it was't fun) Castle Park pictures come first... ...Knott's will come soon. Here we go: This is surprisingly new...Castle Park never had an entrance before. New grass? Looks nice. Ultra Rare Side View of the entrance! I think it was kind of weird that they suddenly added it. Before, Castle Park was one of those park's that's free to go in and you pay for a wristband. Now it's like a regular amusement park with an entrance fee. This caused a lot of people to turn away because parents didn't want to ride anything, but their kids did. Hmm... Yay lets go on da rolly coastre! These flyer flats are rare to us SoCal people. This ride is hard to watch (especially with motion sickness...). This ride is also hard to watch, because you want to ride it! It's very fun. This ride isn't exactly "fun" right now. Rehab or Removed? OoOoOoOoO You been up there a while? Here is the "fun" ride. And the "OoOoOoOoO" ride. Also known as "the big circle". Yay the Log Ride... ...Oh...take the Yay away... It's closed I bet while we wait for it we can entertain ourselves with some great Castle Park theming! (I hope it's theming...). Or, you know, we can just ride Merlin's Revenge. Or take a million pictures of it. Picture #1 out of a million... Picture #2 out of a million... Picture #3 out of a million... You've probably gotten a pretty good idea of its layout by now. Or if not, you can just look at your local Vekoma Roller Skater's layout. Because that's all it is. Just without roller skater trains. Falling Star Sign break!
CreditCrazy Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Baaack to Merlin. Drop!...ish. Some other part of the ride. The Log Ride reopened later. Maybe it just needed to warm up like TTD? Nah... My very first roller coaster You started it all...my crazy obsession with roller coasters...when I was 3...which was a...good thing? It's not fair, some cars spun more than others, I wouldn't want to spin more than other people, do humans actually like these rides? I think I got every angle possible of Merlin's Revenge. Oh, wait, one more. Another one!? Screamin' Demon also wanted to "warm up" and open late, but unlike the Log Ride and what I hope TTD is like, it was running horrible. Spin slam brakes ow agh. And repeat.
megamatt Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 That looks like a nice park. They do a good job of making a bunch of carnival rides more "permident" looking.
robbalvey Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 FYI - if you want people to click on your thread you may want to put the names of the parks it is about in the title - just a suggestion
CreditCrazy Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 I'm getting tired of Blue and Yellow. New colors... But not very exciting ones... These were taken from the Parking Lot. That just happened to be by this light. And the Log Ride. The U.F.O. of endless spinning torture - My friends love this ride. Oh back to Viking Land I see? The Big Wheel hasn't been open in years...I think. The Big Tower (GP name). That Big Circle. And One Last Sign. - The End -- Until Knott's Berry Farm -
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Is fireball the same as Ring of Fire? I have never seen a Fireball or Ring of Fire upclose so I can't really say.
CreditCrazy Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Is fireball the same as Ring of Fire? I have never seen a Fireball or Ring of Fire upclose so I can't really say. Yes. Same ride.
CreditCrazy Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 That looks like a nice park. They do a good job of making a bunch of carnival rides more "permident" looking. Well...the park really isn't that nice, but I guess it falls above the "Dead guests laying on the ground, bloody vending machines, and a derailed mine train" catagory. Onto to Knott's Berry Farm... When you come to Knott's Berry Farm, you start to see Supreme Scream, Xcelerator, and Silver Bullet, maybe a bit of Perilous Plunge, Boomerang, and Ghostrider. Everyone gets really excited, and I'm always glad to see an Xcelerator train come over that top hat, but Montezooma's Revenge is really what Knott's Berry Farm is about Now get prepared for several Knott's Berry Farm signs below. Don't say I didn't warn you. #1 #2 #3 And #4 (Anyone know where this one is?) There's that horrible old Boomerang train. Perilous Plunge, and, even better, its train is through a Palm Tree (yes, I took it that way on purpose). No Xcelerator shots yet??? That must be fixed. This shot was pure luck. All shots are luck, when the train comes into a little tiny spot you pick at 82 mph. But I nailed it. If it weren't for this sign right here, it'd be hard to tell where the actual entrance was, and it'd be almost impossible to ride Xcelerator...(unless you either took a guess, looked at the other sign by the entrance, or went through the exit...). After a couple steps you're greeted by this. And then this. And then this. Zoom on Silver Bullet. Ooooh, fancy angle or random part of the layout that I thought would make for a great picture so I took my camera out and waited for the train but then missed it and didn't want to wait for another train so I just took the picture without a train? That may have been a tad confusing. I apologize and give to you this less-popular Pony Express sign found near the exit. Ooooh, the bigger tower. Up and over the trees. Through the Cobra Roll. Into the Zero-G Roll (which isn't really forceless either). And corkscrewing through the corkscrews. See? Proof. More proof. Monte! Boomcoughboringandroughcoughang... Monte! And of course...proof!
CreditCrazy Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 B&M Invert corkscrews are great. I like the Cobra Roll too. But I hate the helix. Why? Because it's too forceful. Oh...hello there. "Uh-oh, guys, we got another one!". The drop...of all drops. And the picture...of all pictures. The last Jaguar picture of all Jaguar pictures. Yep. It's just spinning. And Spinning. And Spinning. And Hill. And Spinning. And Spinning. Enough Spinning, let's go to Camp Snoopy's other roller coaster! This thing may look tame... But it has extreme painful ejector air. Magnum was built to destroy it but unfortunately it failed. Timberline Twister remains the true ejector air king of the coaster world. For now. Get ready for a big "whee!". And a big "owww!". Silver Bullet is about to hit the brakes... ...Meaning this PTR is coming to an end. Good bye Knott's Berry Farm, see you soon...probably.
atem122 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Great ptr! I can say that the last Knott's sign is on the back of Pony's Tunnel, I havent even been there with pony yet and I can guess that, my skills! BTW Disneyland falls in the category of derailing mine train park
CreditCrazy Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Great Photo TR! I can say that the last Knott's sign is on the back of Pony's Tunnel, I havent even been there with pony yet and I can guess that, my skills! BTW Disneyland falls in the category of derailing mine train park Haha, yeah that one sign is from Pony Express's Tunnel, taken from the back entrance. And yeah, I sort of added a bunch of crazy horrible park things together and put them into a level. Unfortunately, Disneyland was one of them.
themeparkman25 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I second that the sign is behind pony express, or the final turn or something dealing with that ride. BUT, I absolutely love the helix on Bullet. I think those forces are so much fun and feeling all that weight and blood in your feet is just cool I think. I don't know why everyone has beef with Knott's, I really liked the park.

I don't know why everyone has beef with Knott's, I really liked the park. Knott's is a pretty good park...I would definately think someone from out of state would enjoy their rides, and the park, but for someone like me that goes almost monthly, the only ride (s) I consistantly enjoy are Silver Bullet and Xcelerator, and I even get tired of both of those. I've definately had some great visits, some bad visits, and some average visits...right now Knott's ranks as my 4th favorite park out of the 24 I've been to. I'm glad you had a good visit and you enjoyed it, because it is an enjoyable park. One reason that takes it away from being a great park for me is flats...since I don't ride them. If you like flat rides I'm sure you will enjoy KBF more than I do.
