Bolliger&Mabillard Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Hey, I'm watching the Celtics play the Bulls, and I just got the thinking, with the Story behind Raging Bull at SFGAm, do the Chicago Bulls draw their name from the same origin as the coaster?
Airtime&Gravity Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 No, I believe the NBA team name comes from the old stockyards, while the coaster has to do with the area of the park it is in. From RCDB: Named after a ferocious beast that terrorized the citizens of the old Southwest Territory until they fled the town and built the courtyard and mission seen today. The old mission serves as Raging Bull's loading platform. RCDB Link
CHILLERLC1 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Raging Bull probably draws beyond the area it's in and along with the Chicago history like the Chicago Bulls do. The railroad made Chicago a big town for the meat industry.
mcjaco Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Chicago was the meat packing capital of the world for many years. The southside was filled with stockyards for miles. Thus the name.
