Lagoon Park Photo Trip Report 04/11/2009

Recommended Posts

Since there aren't many PTRs of Lagoon Park on here, I decided I would add one. LagoonisFun.com holds Monthly Potluck Parties during the Season and this PTR is from the first one of the year. The group was there to check out some of the new additions the park has made for the 2009 season, including Jumping Dragon.

Now, On To the Photos:

Jumping Dragon gets rave reviews from everyone

Jumping Dragon is a really fun ride that just about everyone in a Family can enjoy together. Even though the ride is very similar to the park's Musik Express Ride, Jumping Dragon isn't Rough and as Intense. I'll be adding another Photo TR from the May Potluck Party in May when the Trees aren't bare. Thanks for Reading!

One problem Lagoon has always had is building Queue Lines that are inadequate. This year Lagoon added about 100ft of Queue Line for Samurai, which will help on busy days, because that line stretched out onto the midway 200+ feet

Samurai is running GREAT this year. If you come to Lagoon, be sure to request Cycle 6, it ROCKS!

Since there were overcast skies and a chance of Showers in the afternoon, Lagoon posted their Inclement Weather Notice out side the Main Entrance. From reading some PTRs from Six Flags Great Adventures, they could use a sign like this.

Nice TR! I used to go to the Lagoon every couple of years while my aunt was living in Roy, UT. But now she is here. Samurai was always one of the best rides when we went. Their log ride wasnt half bad either. Looks like they are adding nice additions and maintaining the park pretty well.

Though im surprised they didnt cover jumping dragon considering the weather you guys get up there.

I can't wait to get up to Lagoon fairly soon. Nice trip report though.

I never knew you could request a cycle for Samurai. Who's best to request that? (I seem to remember the guy in the control booth usually comes out to held with load/unload and that he'd be the best choice. But as Samurai has been down the last few times I've been to Lagoon I can't fully remember).

WOW I am very impressed with the themeing of this ride. Nice job Lagoon. I love the lanterns
Singing a different song now than you were Friday Shane? I was quite impressed with Jumping Dragon and it's themeing myself. Lagoon has really been stepping up since Spider in 2003 and this is no different. I absolutely LOVE the lanterns and can't wait to see this ride at night! Can you get some Lanterns like that for Cowabunga Bay?

You will want to ask the Operator for Cycle 6. Samurai is really running GREAT this year, so I hope you get to experience Cycle 6, it's the only Decent Cycle. Also, let us over at LiF know when you are coming up so we can meet up!

Lagoon looks good. It was a really nice little park when I visited last year and seems to be continuing that. I also really like how they get a new ride every year, big or small. It keeps the park nice, new, and not SFAish
A new ride or rides every year since 1994 is a pretty good record that I don't think will change any time soon. In that time only one ride has been removed because it folded in half like a Taco!

I swear I will make it to Lagoon one of these days!

We're actually really trying to make it up there this Summer some time! Knowing that the new ride (and more I'm sure) is KT Friendly is just an added bonus!

Yes, there are many more rides KT can ride and which you all can ride as a family together. Unfortunately, KT has to be 36" to ride the Zierer Family Drop Towers, Lady Bug Bop and Dinosaur Drop, which are like Frog Hoppers on Steroids! Let me know if you guys make plans cause those of us at LiF would be happy to reserve a terrace and throw a potluck for you guys.
