KDCOASTERFAN Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 ...but the restriction never used to be there. The height restriction was after the accident with the modified trains. I contacted guest relations as well. I didn't understand how trains that are literally the steel comparison as El Toro without a height restriction could cause these trains to have one. They didn't have an answer. Luckily, I am 6'3", but I really do feel bad for my friend, bgroodog. The restrictions are in place due to the twister style layout of the ride,SFA's has the same max restriction th anks to the helixes which you come really close to hitting the supports of if your hands are up.MF doesn't have such a tight layout therefore the max height restriction doesn't exist. Funny thing that T-Bolt didn't recieve fin brakes on the new trains, when SFA put new trains on wild one in 99 they replaced the skid brakes with fin brakes as they were having the same problem of only being able to use one train when the ride also had a 2nd train that was hardly ever in use.
CoasterGuy06 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Millennium Force does have a problem if you are really tall and put your hands up, they even have had to cut parts out of at least one support because of it. I guess Cedar Fair doesn't think it's that big of an issue and Six Flags does maybe?

I'm really surprised about that too, to be honest... in fact, I have been for the past 14 years, ever since the accident that halted two train operation. The manual restraints seem odd to me. Perhaps the plan is to upgrade the restraint release system and brake system at the same time, somewhere in the near future. Yet for some reason, it wouldn't surprise me to see it stay the way it is, either.
