Steffen_Dk Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I finally got my NL to work after several months of troubles That also means that I've lost almost every feeling with the program and almost have to start all over again So I decided to give it a go with a Eurofighter - have never made one of these before. As I can to the lift the, in my opinion weirdest thing happened, but I solved it. It did however, show up again in the first drop section - well here's a picture of it - I think that describes it better than I do. What is going on here?
bravo Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I think it is because the last section before the drop ends just in 90º, so if you move the angle a little it could be better.
dr.gumbo Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 NL doesn't like vertical sections, that's why its best to avoid having any vertices at a 90 degree angle. Also, the top of the lift looks badly shaped. Try and get a circular 3d to get the shape right. It helps a tonne when trying to do something like you are now.
nemesiscrazy Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Hey I am new to the forum. I can see you are having a problem with the beyond vertical drop on your Eurofighter. If you select the the top node on the section that has gone funny and select Rel Roll (relative roll) while the node is still white. This should sort out your problem.
Steffen_Dk Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 Yeah - I solved the problem, but a new one as arrived. I've tried to make a Zero-G-roll using a TUT - that works fine. But as soon as I use the AHG on it, the output just becomes one straight piece of track instead of a heartlined roll - what am I doing wrong? I have coloured the element I want to heartline black as the TUT says.
dr.gumbo Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 ^ Try and put up a picture (before heartlining), I need better visualisation to help you solve the problem.
Steffen_Dk Posted April 3, 2009 Author Posted April 3, 2009 It look exactly like the one in the tutorial:
Steffen_Dk Posted April 3, 2009 Author Posted April 3, 2009 Segments=8 Heartline=1.1 SpeedIn=8.9 SpeedOut=4.2 Precision=6 Filter=50
dr.gumbo Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 I'm not really sure what's wrong but try and increase the input speed a bit and bring the output speed a little closer to the input one and see if it works then.
dr.gumbo Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Could you send me both of the files (before and after) so I can have a proper look at them? (Just send them via PM)
Eric_Smith Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 ^Never mind - I solved it Do you mind me asking what you did to fix it?
Steffen_Dk Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 I raised the element by one meter. And then one of the segments weren't black-coloured.
Steffen_Dk Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 Small update again, and perhaps a little help from someone? I ran into a little problem again - this time concerning the vertical loop - the exit of it is somewhat skewed. Pictures explain it better than words: How do I plain it out so to say? Other pictures - just to get a idea of what I've been doing so far: My fist attempt making a car texture - I think it turned out pretty well
Loefet Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 ^ The shape of the Immelmann looks far worse then the loop in my opinion.
Steffen_Dk Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 I know that - I'm still working on that part
dr.gumbo Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Did you use elementary for the loop, because usually you have to send it through the AHG to get the banking right. Also, awesome job on the car texture.
Steffen_Dk Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 Yes I have tried, but it just ruins the loop totally.
dr.gumbo Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Have you got all the track in the loop white and the correct speed settings?
