Six Flags Enthuseast
Hello everyone! Being an avid coaster fan, I've been drooling over Cedar Point since really hearing about it. With its collection of great rides, such as Top Thrill Dragster and Millenium Force to name 2 (of 17), Cedar Point is a coaster geek's paradise! So, for my 13th birthday, my parents decided to bring me there. I will never forget this place of pure awesomeness! Now on to part 1 of my trip........ EDIT: Here are videos we got on Raptor. I'm having trouble uploading it to TPR, so I'll just post the YouTube links. Holy crap! Size of frog compared to Lucario and I! I'll do it in 2 days. Not tonight. Colored lights inside the entrance. Next was the pointless Pharaoh's Revenge maze inside of Disaster Transport. Troika, not operating today either. Bright Wicked Twister sign! Lucario approved Intamin ride! More hot Intamin Impulse! I know it says not to disturb the operator, but he posed when I was looking around. Quick! Just open the gates so we can get in! Wicked Twister! That's it! Thats the key to getting rid of the ailiens! Ahh! Run for the hills! See, I told you a UFO would crash in front of Coaster Drive-In! More costumed characters, they had way too many of these guys! Johnsonville Brats! Nah, I'm not hungry for brats right now. "Don't you just love how nightime affects your camera?" The overflow for Wildcat. I'm pretty sure that's Power Tower Drop. I remember taking this one. (The following pictures are blurry due to nightime lighting.) Inside of Wildcat's station. Mantis at night. CLOSED! After the show we watched, the creatures came out! And Cedar Point has gone the extra step with the makeup. "Patrick, please let your stuffed animal have some of that awesomeness that can only be beaten by Chuck Norris and Dragster!" Going DOWN! Going UP! The top through the trees. Go MillF! GO! Shop guy talking to random important guy behind corn column. I wish Snake River Falls landed in a pool of Pepsi. Mmmm.... Skyhawk, Dragster, and a nice sunset. What could be that much better? coughDragsterrollbackcough I give anyone who likes this picture permission to put it as their avatar, desktop pic, etc! Lucario fainted at Intamin goodness. Snake River Falls wasn't open today. ..a bone fish! A bone man has to be fishing for..... "I love them so much I forced Patrick to take 2 pictures!" "I'm in love with Intamin rides. Sigh....." "Don't worry; Maverick Rollbacks are fun! Just don't wear earrings." I asked this test-seat-op if he's ever seen anyone from TPR come through. He said yeah, last year they came when Maverick opened. Next day he was working Gemini and he asked if anyone from TPR was riding, and I raised my hand. Good ol' coaster geeks we are! Have you made it this far? Nice job, because here's the reward: Maverick! Big scary red eyes! Umm...... Uhh..... Hello skull guy....... How's it going? Really mad! Sad...(And a bit scary too) Mad... A moment of silence.... I see almost 20 trash cans here. Not quite 20, but close to 20..... Do you? Lucario wants to do it again! Me too! Mmm..... Certs! My favorite mint until I tried Breathsavers. Ignore the expression, please. I already found a good ride. Maybe I'll find better soon......... "OMG!! OMG!! I'M NO LONGER A POKEVERGIN! AHHHH!!!!! Millennium Force! (Deafening cheers and clapping) (Drum roll)........ And now, ladies and gentlemen, its the main event........ "Mantis is a B&M standup that was built in 1996. It is one of the last standup coasters by B&M. I wonder why...." See; the only other thing at CP that's pink! Lucario enjoyed it, but he didn't like it that much. Funny picture. Lady:"Albert, I know you enjoyed the ride, but it's time to get off!" Guy in flannal: "You can't see my head! Ahhh! Stupid Arrow!" Guy in car: "Oh, I don't feel so good. Soo much Arrow Chain-Lag. Uhhhh....." Iron Dragon was a scary ride...... in 1987. Here comes our ride.... Wildcat's running. Wildcat>Iron Dragon. Nobody in line. Dragster Flagster. Mmm.... Mantis. Umm........ It's a hot B&M Standup.... 1 train operation = 47 second wait. Pretty, but yuck at the same time Iron Dragon has fresh new paint. At least it makes the coaster look good. Wish they had the mist thing on, though.... They should put 0th of an hour. We'll save this for later... *Rare* 3 shot Power Tower moment. Hot Summer Lights: the parks big special effects and fireworks show. They do it here because, over everything, they want Iron Dragon to burn down. Iron Dragon. The next step on our coaster quest! The Coaster Drive in. I wonder with all this bad weather if a UFO is going to crash. If it crashes, it will probably do it here because its the only pink thing here except for Dippin' Dots and cotton candy. One for the trash can enthusiast. My mom was staring at the sky, my dad wasn't sure where he was going, and my eyes were melting in the color of that light! Good shot. I don't have the slightest idea how I got some of the good pictures. This one qualifies though. YEAH!!!! "Raptor was an excellent ride! Go B&M!" I'm sure many nervous people waited in these lines...... in 1994. Raptor was just getting started as we got in line. "Welcome to Raptor Please leave your stuff with a non rider. We don't want the bins in the station full even though they're not going to fill today." 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.............. Very hot B&M loopage! The very nicely manicured carousel. Demon Drop. Count the trash cans in this photo. Can you see them all? Yup, Space Spiral is still stuck. Yes! We're in! (Or at least drooling over the entrance) Bench, and a CP trash can. Three more, plus the Halloweekends Herse thing. "Next to my right ear, you can see Dragster, Power Tower, and Blue Streak. You can also see one of Cedar Point's 1,800 trash cans. Do you wonder why they want to add more?" Blue Streak, not operating today because of the Halloweekends thing. "Hello. My name is Lucario, and I'm Patrick's stuffed Pokemon friend. By tomorrow, I'll be drooling adrenaline!" And RIGHT here is where we found out that we had to turn right to get to our hotel. Thus begins the long journy back down the spit.... This skyline nearly made me crap myself. Wooo Hoo!! We're here! Raptor, one of the best coasters in the park. Wicked Twister and Space Spiral. Wonder why Space Spiral is stuck like that... Ahhh!! We're there! (Driving across the lake was almost my favorite part, just because of the views!) Yup, almost there! ANOTHER TOLL?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? There are WAY too many tolls in the midwest! Ohhhh!! We're finally there! Where's the park?!?! Where's the park?!?! A birthday celebration is NEVER complete without one of these! Go Hooters! (This is in Chicago, if you've been to this one) Edited October 29, 2010 by Six Flags Enthuseast
Six Flags Enthuseast
Ok, last pictures of part 1. Demon Drop operating.... At NIGHT! Good night Cedar Point! We'll see you tomorrow! Now, let's go get some pizza! We decided to chase seagulls in the parking lot as we exited! Good night trash can. Sweet emptyings! The CP hearse again. My mom has to choose between one trash can or the other... "Hey lady, pick me!" "No, pick me!"

Jds03
Nice Report. I remember my first trip to cedar point and how awesome it was. It makes me happy to hear about other people's first trip to CP That spot on Maverick where you got the sunset post is always incredibly photogenic. I got some really great photos their too when I went this summer.
alpengeist04
Great job so far on the TR. It looks like your dad has the Robb Alvey face down pat in that one picture.

Six Flags Enthuseast
Part 2: A rainy day, and our last day. So, we get to the park the next day and we're all set to go ride! Then, right after Millennium Force starts up the lift as we're riding, it begins to rain. And that was the most painful thing I've ever done, considering I was in the front seat! I also got a lot of bugs on my face and hands. So beginning from the top........... We also stopped at the Sears Tower! Lucario approved Mini Golf/Go Kart track! Zoom! We touched there! My car! Small, yet pretty spaced out for fast speeds. This is a nice little track and golf course. On the way home, we decided to stop at some go cart track. CF&P are raising the bar! We had to find our keys first, I lost the one for unlocking the car when I put my stuff in the Dragster Lockers. Goodbye Cedar Point! We'll see you soon! Ahh..... Old 1970's Switzerland. Or was it 1980's? This guy is posing for the camera. How could I resist? VertiGo^:a short lived, yet amazingly different concept from S&S Power. Now, there are a lot of good rides that had to be paved over (or moved) in order to make today's Cedar Point possible. So lets pay our last respects to those rides that have gone to Heaven in the hope of rising into God's almight themepark. (Unless you're Muslim, or Calvinest, or Buddhist, or whatever faith you are, then it's gone to somewhere good where you hopefully believe in afterlife) Raptor has way too many good points for pictures! I like it! Me dancing to Thriller outside of the giftshop on the Main Midway. The kid in the left front: 1: Looks very nervous 2: Looks like someone I know at my school 3: Is sitting next to some hot chick! Nah, I'll still go with Dragster. Now we'll have to wait 20 minutes for the ride to reset! Sigh...... See? I'm not lying this time! Dragster gets close, but doesn't make it! OH YEAH! THIS IS WHAT I CAME FOR BABY! "Baby I'm Ready to GOOOOOO!!!!!" And just as we unlock our locker at noon.......... Yes! We're getting Dragster just as the lines build up. Don't worry the queue isn't full, they're about to open up the ride in a minute or 2. PT/Dragster shot. Oh, nice Power Tower shot. Arrowfanman just missed his opportunity at a complete Corkscrew train. Pity on him.... Cool-ish Iron Dragon station roof. More Hot Summer Lights. Up until mid-October I'm assuming. Iron Dragon Hasn't opened up yet.... Hmm........ Beware if you don't want to crap your pants. Raptor Helixage. Ummm... Raptor Cobra-rollage. Is that even a TPR word? Oh! Nice picture again! I got more pics of Raptor than any other ride except for Dragster. And I can't forget his cool dog Snoopy! Rock on dudes! But of course, I first have to get some pictures with my homeboy Charlie Brown! Final day: We'd ridden everything now, and we just came back for another day of fun! And another Dragster ride. And a maXair ride. This is the last picture of the day for some reason, but I did ride Dragster. And it is my new favorite coaster! GO SWISS CHEESE! This is the only roller coaster I have ever ridden that has airtime that I can describe as "painful." The restraints won't go up and stay there; they'll go up and rattle uncontrollably! Ouch. "Oww.... Owww.... Oww....." To make up for my pretend rollback shot (@ the bottem), here is a weird picture of Magnum loading in the station. Rollback! Coming down! Some girl has just wet her pants! "....ride Magnum." This shot (and some others that went down to the bottem the topic for some reason, I don't know why) are brought to you from Magnum XL-200's queue. "NO! DRAGSTER IT IS!!! BABY I'M READY TO GOOOOOOOO......." "No, I want to go on Gemini again!" "No, I want to go on Dragster!" Lucario wants to go on Gemini again! Cool Gemini station. Cold outside. 3 more trash cans for anyone who cares. Lucario wants to do the blue train. Mom and dad will do the red train. (tehehe) The outside is nice. The inside beneth the station..... not so nice.... Yay! Gemini was racing today! FUN! My first official racing coaster that was actually racing! No, wait, 2nd to American Eagle. Like Gemini! Lucario has other things to worry about..... The parks nicest themed ride. At least in terms of "natural" theming. "Yay! Relatively boring Arrow Mine Train....... Nah, I'll save the enthusiasm for Dragster." Now its Cedar Creek Mine Ride. The only Black Arrow Coaser I know except for Ninja at SFStL... and Viper at Darien Lake..... and Demon at both Great Americas.... Oh, yeah, nevermind. Mom liked it, but she looks like that after most every ride. Whee!!!! GO UTAH!!!! Wish it was longer though. 5 swings isn't enough. See, ride so fun it putting me into trance. Or I'm showing the dimensions of something to the guy next to me. Wheee!!!! Big 40 seat S&S Sky Swing = HUGE! I've never been on an S&S ride with this much capacity. I've been on the 4-seat one, but not the 40-seat one, so I'm in some kind of trance. Kinda like Jeff Johnson getting on Viper @ SFMM. Mom sure looks funny. I can't see anything wrong with me. Yes we are taking the long way around, Lucario, since we're riding Skyhawk next. "Patrick, can I take this fortune cookie incase I get hungry on the way to Dragster? After all, we ARE going the long way." "King of the Huge Maverick Cup!" Big menu indeed, I'm the picky type and I still found something to eat here! Lucario Approved Fortune Cookie. So after Mantis, we decided to escape the rain by eating at Panda Express. Mmm! (Notice how much I say that word?) Lucario and I would lick Mantis any day, but not ride it. Yup, just a big hunk of sexy pain. How many ride-ops does it take to operate Mantis? 3! Here we go on one of the worst B&M coasters ever! (Well, in terms of painfulness) Close up. Eww...... Some on my hands.... Thanks to a sudden rainstorm, here are the bugs that decided to pile up on my face! ZOOM! I could've just Photoshopped the other photo from part 1 an you'd never have known. They were emptying the test dummies as we were begining to move in line. Ready to go on Millennium Force again. Mantis loopage Some ride graves. I have more at the end, so wait 'till then to pay your final respects... Dad gets a chance to pose with Bob. Bob Highlander.... Hey! We have a Toyota Highlander; we're related! Gravestones from old rides past. Silvia's jealous that we get the early entry ticket. But I'm jealous that she's able to work at the park, so we're even. More creatures were here today! Here we are, and we even got a good spot in the parking lot. Here we go again... Breakers Express has all you need for a small breakfast! Mmmm!! Krispy Kreme doughnuts! I'll end this part with a nice picture of the Sears Tower. I'm drooling.... I could make a post-card out of this! thrillrideseeker
Yes! We're getting Dragster just as the lines build up. Don't worry the queue isn't full, they're about to open up the ride in a minute or 2. Haha! Good times... Good times! You think the bugs on Mille hurt, try riding Dragster at night... that is one of the worst things ever!! They are like little needles hitting you in the face! Anyways your trip report looks really great! I hope you had a blast a cedar point!~Matthew
Six Flags Enthuseast
^Oh, yes I did! AWESOME PLACE!! And bugs will hit your face on Dragster at night? Yup, I'd describe the rain and bugs on Mille the same way, but Dragster speeds it up by 1/3 or so. Ouch!
thrillrideseeker
And bugs will hit your face on Dragster at night? Oh heck yes! There are bugs hitting your face on Dragster at night like no other! All the lights around the base of the tower, and along the launch track attract millions of bugs, and every time a train launches it goes right through all the bugs, so you can only imagine! For crying out loud we would have to scrape them off the front of the trains every time they came back into the unload station... ~Matthew
Six Flags Enthuseast
^Then I'm not sure I'd ride in the front for a rollback opportunity at night.
Speeddeamon128
Awesome report. The first time I went to Cedar Point was in 2002 & I was 12. Since then I've gone back in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 & hopefully next year! Millennium Force is my favorite steel coaster, however I prefer Kingda Ka over Top Thrill Dragster. It looks like the rain at CP hit you as well Every time I go there it always rains

Six Flags Enthuseast
^Oh, makes sense. Same for Power Tower I'm guessing? Because it was stuck like that in the '6 car Dragster/PT' shot.
Invertalon
Nice pics, but I really don't understand the stuffed pokemon obsession... One thing I hate about living in northeast ohio is that there is little to do come winter, meh.
Six Flags Enthuseast
^Oh, I just brought my Pokemon kinda like Robb and Elissa did in 2002 at the variety of parks with Kermit. Just for fun and weirdness!
