muddypuppy14 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Hey guys! I'm going to be visiting Japan sometime in the coming years and I'd like an amusement park to visit. I'll probably be all over the country, so it doesn't matter where. Did one park impress you, just, like, so much that you would recommend it on the spot (besides the Disney parks, because once you've seen one you've seen 'em all ) So yeah, if you had one to recommend, which would it be? Thanks!
Showoffca Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 DisneySea man - you haven't seen them all if you haven't seen this one ... and really, Tokyo Disneyland, while more like the Magic Kingdom in WDW - had some of the best versions of Disney Rides anywhere - and they are the only one with the awesome Pooh Huney Hunt.
jedimaster1227 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 DisneySea is incredible--definitely worth a trip on its own. La Qua (Tokyo Dome City) is also pretty unique--plus it has a Bubba Gumps!

I'm wondering why all the wooden coasters are some what connected to Intamin(besides the togo) Well I dont know too much about Japan parks, but those look decent . . . . .have fun -Matthew.K
robbalvey Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 ^ Have you ever been to Japan before? Why are you answering this question if you haven't? Seriously...that is a TERRIBLE list of parks you suggested! Why would anyone put "Hirakata" or "Kijima" on a list of parks for a first timer going to Japan? Please, if you know nothing about the country or the parks and ONLY know what you read from RCDB, please do not answer a question meant for "Ask Alvey." As for the original poster, I'm going to ask this of what I ask most people who want information.... What are YOUR interests? What is your trip about? Is it all coasters? Are you looking to credit whore? Do you want to hit up just the big parks? Have you looked through our Japan Guide and the rest of our Japan TR's? I think what I'd be most interested in hearing from you is what kind of trip your doing and then a list of parks based on what you've seen in our trip reports and then I can suggest to you which parks to visit. We've been to litterally *50* parks all over Japan. Not having much information on the type of trip your doing makes it hard for me to narrow that list down further. --Robb "Help me help you!" Alvey
dandaman Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I suggest going to Fuji-Q and filming yourself on Eejanaika... that way everyone gets in on the fun. Dan " 'That was actually worse than X!' " Smith
PeoplemoverMatt Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 If you just want 1 amusement park in Japan to visit, make it Tokyo DisneySea. It isn't just "the disney park" because it's not a magic kingdom park and not something that can be found anywhere else in the world. Between that park and the rest of the Tokyo Disney Resort (hotels, atmosphere, shopping, dining), there isn't much room for disappointment. It's right there at the Maihama Station on the JR Keiyo Line so transportation to/from whereever in Japan is pretty easy. That being said, Tokyo DisneySea does require the thrill aspect of a park trip to be curtailed a bit in favor of immense & immersive themeing and top-notch service. If you're the kind of park goer who puts thrills above themeing & service, DisneySea might not be the best pick for you. In that case, "The Magic Mountain of Japan" would probably be more enjoyable for you. I'm sure someone around here would be more than willing to point you in the direction to find that park.
