JimmyBo
Welcome to JimmyBo’s Scream Machines This thread is dedicated to all the coasters I created with a coaster creating program called “Scream Machines”. This program was released awhile ago, probably around the same time as No Limits. I never got on the No Limits bandwagon and I kept creating coasters using Scream Machines. This thread will show you, the reader, what I have created from 2002-2007. I haven’t created a coaster since December of 2007 but that doesn’t mean I can’t share with you what I have done. There will be a couple pictures and a video for each ride. Here are some Disclaimers before you read on… 1. You must have a sense of humor to read this thread. As some of you may know, I am a very sarcastic person and not a lot of things I say should be taken seriously. With that aside…Robb is fat. 2. These coasters are my creations and if I see any parks that build exact clones of these rides you will here a call from my lawyer. If you are with B&M, Intamin, GCI, or any other coaster design firm or manufacturer and you would like to talk about the rights to these coasters then PM and we can talk about it. 3. I don’t want to see posts they only say “Cool ride. I wish it were real” Really? You wish it were real? I wish it were a paper airplane and that’s why I created it in the first place! If you post “I wish it were real” then please give feedback of why you wish it were real. Give an example of the part of the ride you like or whatever. 4. Any and all feedback is welcome. Even if you say “JimmyBo, you are stupid and I hate you” then I will reply “I know where you live”. Again, any feedback is welcome. 5. While some of these coasters were being built, companies that built the type of ride went out of business (CCI and Arrow Dynamics). Please don’t tell me “They went out of business”. I’m not going to go back and change a ride type because a company went out of business. It was the company’s fault. This thread will be broken down into 3 parts (hopefully, if everything goes well). JimmyBo
Roaring Eagle Stats Type: B&M Terrain Flying Coaster Length: 4,350ft Speed: 54mph Height: 175ft (Highest to lowest point) Max Drop Height: 100ft Inversions: 9 Max G-Forces: 3.0 Time: 2:15 Info This B&M flyer was created before Six Flags Magic Mountain announced Tatsu. I wanted SFMM to get a B&M flyer and I was hoping it would be something like this design. While Tatsu is an amazing ride in itself, I think it was funny to see that it had a Pretzel Loop while coming off the mountainside, just like I have here in this design. I could sue Six Flags for stealing my idea but I have a feeling that they have some pretty awesome lawyers and they would win the battle. Please enjoy Roaring Eagle. DBru
Wow, that's a lot of coasters... Before you get started, how exactly does Scream Machines work? Is it hard to build a pretty smooth coaster? The reason for asking is that I know SM has many more coasters types that NL, so why would NL be more popular...? Thanks.
Thelegendarymatthew
^Scream Machines was released right when noLimits started getting popular. I like the flyer, how it doesn't invert the whole ride. Sort of like how air is but with more elements.
JimmyBo
Mountain Express Stats Type: Arrow Dynamics Terrain Suspended Coaster Length: 4,650ft Speed: 60mph Height: 175ft (Highest to lowest point) Max Drop Height: 110ft Max G-Forces: 3.5 Time: 2:15 Info This is no Eagle’s Fortress but I tried to deliver the same kind of feeling on this creation. Mountain Express travels alongside a mountain and weaves in and out of canyons and comes within inches of hitting nearby trees. While Scream Machines was playing around with the Suspended Coaster Model while I created this, the physics are not totally there when it comes to the swing of the coaster cars. It kind of sucks that Arrow Dynamics had to go out of business because this would be a perfect design to bring them back on the map. I definitely would not want S&S Power to try and build a suspended coaster…they will probably throw a launch in there or make it go vertical or something stupid like that. DBru
I always wished that NL included a suspended swinging coaster... Mountain Express looks great! It seems much longer and more action-packed than most of the real suspended coasters. Do you have any downloadable videos? They won't stream on my browser... JimmyBo
Fireball Chaos Stats Type: B&M Inverted Looping Coaster Length: 5,005ft Speed: 68mph Height: 185ft Max Drop Height: 170ft Inversions: 9 Max G-Forces: 3.5 Time: 2:25 Info Unfortunately I didn’t create many Inverted Looping Coasters but I believe that this is my favorite out of the few I did create. This beast unleashes hell on its riders while it burns their flesh off…ok not really. Some inversions are taken so fast the riders are pushed against their seats while other inversions are taken slow so the riders feel as they are floating through the inversions. This coaster has some tunnel effects which Scream Machines didn’t offer very well so I had to create all tunnels by hand. Note, there is no B&M pre-drop after the lift because I feel that B&M can still operate coasters without the little dip. That little pre-drop is a weird feeling when your sitting in the backseat. JimmyBo
Shark Attack Stats Type: Intamin Inverted Looping Coaster Length: 4,330ft Speed: 65mph Height: 170ft Max Drop Height: 155ft @ 87 degrees Inversions: 8 Max G-Forces: 4.0 Time: 2:00 Info This is the second to last coaster I created on Scream Machines and I feel it is one of my best. While there aren’t too many Intamin Inverted Looping Coasters (non-launch) I feel this is one that could definitely be built. The first drop on this coaster is a lot like Theme Park Review’s Number 1 Steel Coaster, Expedition G-Force, in that it twists while continuing down a very steep drop. Plus, this coaster travels low to the water and if you have long legs like some of our TPR gentle giants then a shark will eat your feet. JimmyBo
Blue Thunder Stats Type: Intamin Launch Coaster Length: 5,015ft Speed: 87mph Launch Speed: 0-87mph in 1.5 seconds Height: 125ft Max Drop Height: 240ft Max G-Forces: 3.5 Time: 1:55 Info Blue Thunder was my first launch coaster on Scream Machines. This coaster was definitely near the early stages of me playing around on Scream Machines as some of the transitions weren’t very smooth and some turns were a little off. I still like this ride even though it could use some TLC (no, not the old-school rap group because the “L” is dead). Watch out for the little dip after the launch before the spike, it definitely offers some pop of airtime and will chop your head off. JimmyBo
MAGNUM Stats Type: Premier Launch Looping Coaster Length: 5,260ft Speed: 74mph 1st Launch Speed: 0-52mph in 3.5 seconds 2nd Launch Speed: 25-72 in 2 seconds Height: 205ft Max Drop Height: 200ft Inversions: 4 Max G-Forces: 3.5 Time: 1:50 Info While in Las Vegas for my 21st birthday, I really enjoyed riding SPEED at the Sahara. I figured that when I got back that I could make a launch coaster with 2 launches just like SPEED. MAGNUM offers 2 launches and 4 structures where the coaster is in complete darkness and maneuvers through inversions and launches. In the middle part of the ride there is a 205ft spike with plenty of airtime to offer while cresting the top. Too bad the word on the street is that SPEED is closing…maybe they can replace it with this coaster instead? Any takers? PM me and I will sell you the rights to this coaster and it can be the best on the strip. Otherwise, the best coaster on the Las Vegas strip is taking a cab ride for at least 5 mintes. JimmyBo
Colossus Stats Type: Intamin Launch Looping Coaster Length: 5,000ft Speed: 67mph Launch Speed: 10-67mph in 2 seconds Height: 150ft Max Drop Height: 135ft Inversions: 14 Max G-Forces: 4.0 Time: 1:55 Info Technically Colossus is a launch coaster but the launch just gets you up to the top of the coaster, taking out the boring lift hill because the only reason lift hills were made for were for making out with your partner. When plummeting down to earth after the first drop, it’s all inversions after that…14 to be exact. Colossus was named after the coaster with the same name that opened at Thorpe Park and had the most inversions on any coaster. While this Colossus is nothing like Thorpe’s, this one definitely packs a punch with the amount of different types of inversions. JimmyBo
The Monster Stats Type: Premier Compact Launch Looping Coaster Length: 3,250ft Speed: 60mph Launch Speed: 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds Height: 110ft Inversions: 6 Max G-Forces: 4.5 Time: 1:20 Info My buddy Doug and I designed this coaster while we were bored in an engineering class at the University of Arizona. He went on to become a graduate from the college and a successful engineer while I was kicked out of school (that’s a whole other story in itself) With that info aside, this coaster is very compact and offers a lot. This is a lot like the Flight of Fear clones that Premier Rides has released at some parks. While the color scheme may hurt some people’s eyes and feel like you are on an acid trip, at least it gets your attention. Hell, maybe even the people that are on drugs might enjoy this coaster. JimmyBo
Deadman’s Curve Stats Type: Intamin Inverted Launch Looping Coaster Length: 6,800ft Speed: 85mph Launch Speed: 10-85mph in 2 seconds Height: 250ft Max Drop Height: 200 Inversions: 8 Max G-Forces: 4.0 Time: 2:15 Info This is one coaster that I know will probably never be built because it is just too huge for any park and takes out a big area. Maybe Hard Rock Park can build this coaster and not file for Chapter 11. With that being said, this was the first coaster I created on Scream Machines as a “Fantasy” coaster meaning that I knew it couldn’t and wouldn’t be built. Why can’t it be built you may ask? Well, just ride it and tell me you could survive it. The thing is built over freaking lava people, it would melt! JimmyBo
Iceberg Stats Type: Intamin Launch Coaster Length: 7,400ft Speed: 95mph Launch Speed: 10-95mph in 3 seconds Height: 295ft Max Drop Height: 295 Max G-Forces: 3.75 Time: 2:00 Info This frozen, hairy, tall yeti has 3 vertical towers with 90 degree drops on all of them. The launch and first spike have never been done before on any coaster. The train shoots skyward and then turns 180 degrees, crests the top hat, then turns 270 degrees as it drops to the frozen earth below. Then there are the other top hats with plenty of airtime while soaring over the top. Not to mention, this creation has a station flythrough where people better not drop their hats near the track or they will be the headless horseman for Halloween. That’s right, I named a coaster after a show with David Hasselholf…got a problem with that? Then take it up with the Germans. The original Knight Rider car could definitely do the tricks this coaster takes you through…the new Knight Rider car can fall off a cliff and burn in hell for all I care. This launch coaster has a station fly through where the track goes directly over the waiting passengers in the next coaster train. Angry_Gumball
Cool that you got some use out of SM. I messed with both NL and SM, but obviously jumped on the NL bandwagon. I never really cared for the over-saturated colors SM pulled off...looked...weird. Are you still making stuff with SM or was that prettymuch a thing of the past?
JimmyBo
Pretty much a thing of the past. The last one I created was last December. I've been playing around with it but nothing really worth posting so I figured I'd put all the ones I've finish up here. At least if they ever come out with the Scream Machines 2 I will still be used to all the controls.
