Good afternoon- as part of "The Grand Expansion" at The Hotel Hershey, a $67 million building campaign, more than 50 mature trees are being relocated to the area behind The Hotel that will include 10 new luxury guest cottages. The trees have been relocated from The Hotel and Hersheypark in order to move forward with The Grand Expansion and the Hersheypark 2009 attraction. Environmental Design tree relocation specialists from Texas, with support from the staff of the Hershey Nursery, are moving the trees to their new home in the Woodside Cottages. The photo below was taken yesterday and shows the scope of the project. The shovel is 120 inches and the tree moved is approximately 15 to 20 years old.
