dr.gumbo Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 IMO, this is your best ride by a long shot. It had it problems, but it made up for that in superb dueling/racing. The good -Groundbreaking-ly fun dueling/racing -Much smoother than your previous rides -Great pacing -Superb layout The not so good -While smoother than your other rides, there are still some noticable pumps My verdict With the fun-factor on over-load, its hard not to like this ride. 8/10
haux Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I've critiqued plenty of your coasters, so I don't think I need to give you the long version this time. It's probably the best coaster I've seen you make. Good work. You're learning a lot. It's bumpy, but it's not totally unrideable because of it. There are only two things I can really say I didn't like about it: One, you only run one train per side. It might be able to work with two trains per side or four trains. Two, the layout's pretty bland. I was upset when you said it was inspired by Twisted Twins. That's one of the most uninspiring coasters I've ever been on. CCI didn't try anything fun with that coaster. Your first drop isn't anything special. And the dueling/racing was only really noticeable at the bottom of the first drop and the twisting portion of the end. Pretty good work. 6/10. Edit: Also, how did you do the dueling? Did you select all the first track and save it as an element? Then did you insert it as a mirrored element and change some places so the rides didn't collide?
DBru Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 ^^&^Thank you all very much! Nice to actually see quite a bit of positive feedback from both of you! Haux, the dueling aspect was actually really difficult to get down. My original plan was to do what you said, and just reposition some of the colliding segments. However, when I did this, there were too many track hits, and it would have been totally pointless for you all to ride both sides (because they'd be too similar). So, I just copied the beginning of the ride (station/lift/drop/first curve), and moved it forward some. Next, I moved back the front station node, and lowered the pre-lift, to make up for the gained distance. From then on I just free-handed the whole ride, and hoped that in the end, they would actually duel...and they did! lol. I ended up with two completely different layouts that began and ended in the same place. (And I was proud of myself.) So thanks again for the comments, and anymore are welcome!
Kennyweird Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Not bad at all. One thing's for certain, your hand building skills are far superior to mine. Overall, I give it a 9/10. By the way, how long did it take you to make this?
