coasterbill Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Just read through everything and just a few quick useless tidbits. 1 - Not only is Top Gun underrated, but other than FOF and Firehawk it's the best coaster at KI. Vortex is good too but everything else is just "meh". Nice mine train though. 2 - I'm glad someone else thinks Laser is the best coaster at DP. It's really not even close actually. 3 - Yeah NJ is a mess. I remember driving around the Garden State Parkway for 45 minutes, passing 4 entrances to GSP south but not a single one for GSP North. Luckily you can't pump your own gas in NJ so you can keep asking gas station attendants wtf to do. 4 - I actually love Nitro and kind of like GASM but other than that I agree with your take on great Adventure. Rolling Thunder, The Dark Knight and Superman add nothing to the park, but I'm glad TDK and Superman are there because they always manage to keep people away from good rides. (PS - Medusa and batman are great).
Jim S. Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 The bathrooms were absolutely hilarious simply because they had signs telling guests not to wash their hair or feet in the sinks!! WTF!?? One ridiculously hot day at Dorney, I did see someone soaking his head in the sink. But I doubt a sign would've done any good, because I don't think he spoke English. As for Natasha Bedingfield playing Playland, it's not that unusual, except maybe the free part. Even though she's had a couple of hits, remember that she's just starting out. I've seen some pretty big new bands playing some pretty small colleges here in the middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania. If you got a race on Rolling Thunder, consider yourself lucky. When I was there, they also had 5-minute dispatch times but still didn't manage to race them. And it both sucks and blows -- the one side had no forces at all, the other one had continuous jackhammering.
YoshiFan Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 The 5 minute dispatches have been a problem all season. Very fusturating when a 2 train wait turns into 15 minutes from the time you enter the line until you exit the ride.
coasterbill Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Eddie Money did a free concert a few years ago at Playland. Not a huge name but for a free concert they get some decent stuff.
