hansrubens
It was a year since my last visit to Phantasialand and not a lot has changed since than. They put in a new Heege Tower and the newly hotel Matamba opened on august 23. Hotel Matamba was just amazing. It's been build right next to Black Mamba and from the rooms you must have a beautiful view on the Deep in Africa Area. We went straight for Black Mamba on arrival but I'm not sure if that is a clever thing to do. The line for front row was already 60 minutes according to the signs but it turned out to be 30 minutes. I believe there is a tendency that the line at Black Mamba is getting smaller in the afternoon but they did an one train operation all day so the line for front row wasn't getting smaller. They put on the 2nd train at 11 but there was only one train running when we got back around 2. Black Mamba didn't give me that kick like it did on it's opening year but hey, maybe I did some coasters on our USA tour that where way better. On to the pics..... Sorry were closed. New for 2008. Nicely landscaped. Maybe Phantasialand could invest in some better kiddie rides. Kill the dragon. ^ How back dated. Swallow. Park overview through Drool mountain. Yeah were sad and pathetic. POV shot. Let's go to the last crappy darkride: Drool mountain. Another old and crappy darkride. Der Geister Rikscha. Oh thought I took some pics inside but I can't find them anymore. They will get soaked. I never seen anyone getting dry out of this one. sixty feet up. See. There is a rapids ride inside. Phantasialand Jet. Hotel Ling Bao was deperate for some attention too. Why am I sitting here for minimum wage. No it was not this coaster. He just turned 50. Moneyshot of the century. Upside down. But Talocan was OK. I survived and I didn't feel sick afterwards. I skipped it last year cause I don't really like them. I finally got on it. Talocan. New for 2007. This is the only picture I took from Temple of the night hawk cause I wasn't allowed to take any pictures inside. I didn't know that until I was asked to stop. This is the Brandenburger Tor (not Der Reichstag) which originally can be found in Berlin. Oh there are more people inside. Caption anyone? Well only some old stuff. What's inside room #1. Inside Mystery castle you can find some weird theming. Silver Dollar City.... Up to Mystery Castle. Is there a woman living in that bag? They are big fun with all the special effects and stuff. Home of two Maurer Sohne spinning coasters. Up to Wuze town. Maybe they should replace it for something bigger and better. We had so much fun on the silber mine. Don't know what to think of those rides. Phantasialand has also a huge selection of old darkrides. First one we hit was the Silbermine. Zero G with the Hotel Matamba. Something is missing. Wing over #1 Going through the Immelman Jr. ^ Favorite element. It was a great addition to the Deep in Africa theming. Hotel Matamba. Loop with the Hotel Matamba in the Back. For the lifthill fanatics. The first drop was fun on the first row but it was amazing on the last row. Space theming. This is the best I could get. It's very hard to get a decent picture in here. Queue line theming Waiting for front row on Black Mamba. We didn't use the quick pass today. Alt Berlin. This park very well themed. Mmmm Phantasialand. BuschSchoe
Phantasialand seems to have theming that is on par with Disney and Universal. Talocan seems MUCH better than The Crypt at Kings Dominion. Anyways, nice trip report and photos.
hansrubens
^ Yeah the theming is amazing but the park is lots smaller than an Universal or Disney park. There is not a single spot in the park that is not used by a ride or a show. I was in Dominion last may but we skipped the Crypt. ---Hans

JayJay
What you call the "Reichstag" is actually the "Brandenburger Tor"...but at least it's located in Berlin as well - pretty close to the "Reichstag". So you're not that wrong.
