Guest Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Been there before (06) so ill just make a few notes. -Ive never been a huge fan of GCIs but I really liked Evel Knievel, enjoyed it more than Renegade. Its far better in front row than in back. -Operations were decent enough, Mr Freeze started running two trains after the line got long and STOP was running 1/2 tower. The Evel Knievel crew was real fast the rest were normal and Batmans was real slow. -The Boss is still way better than people give it credit for. Yeah its a bit rough around the edges but ive been on much worse, and the layout is amazing. -Crowds seemed really light for a Saturday in August, there lines but they didnt seem real long. Evel Knievel and Tony Hawk had probably the shortest lines of all the coasters with Batmans line being the longest (even though naturally the garden was empty). Heres a video I took of Batman's really long Garden http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qSaItEr0Sw Now to the pics: I didnt have to rent any lockers either She asked me to stop for a picture, so I stopped and took one Director Guy pointing to the Fright Fest countdown thing without knowing it You think by this point ACErs would know not to bring large items to Six Flags parks Extreme theming Nice looking enterprise in front of the Boss Themed advertisements outside Tony Hawk
Guest Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Bulletin board in Mr Freezes line I dont sit near the back of Mr Freeze cause it makes me sick Waiting for Scooby is always a daunting task cause you never know how slow its going to move. I dont get why a continouis loading dark ride has such bad capacity and the line always moves real slow. On a good note the guns actually work really well compared to the other dark rides ive been on this year (Lake Compounce, Indiana Beach) STOP was only running 1/2 tower and had a line so we didnt ride it. Screamin Eagle has a lot of hills but little to no air, it keeps its speed real well though Six Flags and their prizes that dont fit in the $1 lockers I dont really get a Superman theme on a drop tower but whatever works Crappy Vekoma coaster with Shockwaves lift chain (when Ninjas chain snapped a few years ago they replaced it with part of Shockwaves from SFGAm) I dont get this, there is a sign for a singles lane but there is no singles lane This reminds me a lot of a queue someone who sucks at RCT would make
TheStig Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Mr Freeze, bitch! Great TR Brad, I really need to get to SFSTL after driving by it like 200000 times.
Guest Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 After walking through the massive garden etc were greeted with a few queue houses =( Not a fan of how SFSTL and SFGADV's Batcaves have paths that lead into the Batcave with open doors letting all the light in Like many BTRs, the theming is in state of neglect SFSTL didnt paint over their graffiti like GAdv and GAm did Batmans lockers having some issues The scrambler has an awesome name/sign The cars drop at different times on STOP Legit stacks of beer, found this kind of interestnig as there was an outside deck right out the door from here and really no employee presence anywhere in the area Probably the only SF park that can boast this Me with EK
Guest Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 The ivy on the cieling around this poster is a nice touch =( We walked through HH Couldnt find any signs like the new ones at Disney waterparks, so I had to settle for this It went up to 2 train op when the line got long This thing used to spray water SFTV in THBS and EK's line is themed, not in BTRs line though I dont like the Gerstlauer spinning coasters compared to a normal or spinning mouse, most other people seem to though One last ride on EK When Shapiro came "on board" I remember they made a big deal of every restroom having an attendant at all times. That lasted about a week...
Guest Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Mr Freeze, bitch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic9kAsVoVeo Bitch
haiderodes Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 That Batman queue is hardcore. Reminds me of SFOG...long ass garden queue followed by massive queue hidden queue house. Interesting that they made it with no "shortcuts" built in like at SFMM, if its not busy you can bypass the garden section of the queue.
Six Flags Addict Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Great PTR! Good to see you had a good time at my home park. Man I've only seen the line on Batman that long once this summer (but I only go on week days so...).
yankees15 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 SFSTL looks like a great park. I would really like to get out there one day. If I'm ever in the area I'll definitely check it out.
fallen xxi Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 See, in my eyes, the more grungie the batman themeing gets, the better it looks.
spaceace12 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Wow, what a difference a week makes, I was just there a week ago Saturday, packed to the max. S:TOP was all the way past hte game building out in front of it.
