AlmereStars Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Heey all, I'm making a new rollercoaster in NL. it will be a vekoma flyer, but then with a launch instead of a lift! (don't know if they exist?) for now I have the logo and 1 element if you want I can make an pov video when its done the logo 1 of the elements
Steffen_Dk Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 This looks and sounds very promising - I really like the idea of launching the train. That'll definitely be a unique element. And what a nice logo
dr.gumbo Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 IThat'll definitely be a unique element. Not anymore cough...jarmor lol It certainly looks promising but I don't like all these flyers appearing, their making my purposed one less original.
zeke11793 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 This looks pretty cool. Hope to see more. You stole the name from my flyer I posted! Just kidding.
AlmereStars Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 Steffen: tnx! Dr. Gumbo: nothing is making your flyer less original!! zeke: sorry if I stole the name! I think the crow is the most evil bird of all the birds! and that fits a vekoma here's another pic. but i'm really struggling to get some parts smooth so I don't know if it goes up today the launch and some more parts of the ride
AlmereStars Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 sorry for the doublepost, but the coaster is done! Statistics: - almost 1 km long (925 meters, or more then 3000 feet)- 6 inversions- 120 degrees banked turn- top speed of 102 km/h (63 mp/h) it has a trim which I didn't want to put in cause I hate those, but without it the last turn has red g's and couldn't fix that here's the download any comments (and tips) would be appreciated! The Crow.nltrack The Crow: A Vekoma Flyer
Steffen_Dk Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Technically: Pretty good most of the way. There were some few bumps here and there, which I think could be smoothed more, and that trim brake - urgh! What a terrible move I'll give this 6.5/10 Adrenaline: That was the best park, I think. The launch was fantastic, and the inversion right after was great - uhh and the little roll into the launch section was just fabulous! I didn't expect that at all. Here I'll give it 8/10 Original: Launch, and cool elements = 9/10 So the average must be 7.8/10
AlmereStars Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 well I always have bumps, but that's because I don't have the patience to make it completly bump-free, or at least sort off bump-free. the focus is more on the lay-out and you gave that a high number tnx for that!
Rct3man777 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Okay, that was AMAZING. That thing would be intense as hell to ride! Are you gonna make a vid for it?
jarmor Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 well i decided to check it out and this is what i think... The curving brake leading into the launch...not realistic Speaking of the launch. WHile it would be cool launching face down it is not pratical when an evalcuation is needed. Since the vekoma flyers load in the upright position, if the track is inverted then it would be impossible, well not really impossible but people would drop on their heads, for a successful evalcuation. I would have liked to see more custom supports on the coaster. It reminded me of AIR, just flying around and the lie-to-fly occasionally which isnt a bad thing. Personally I would have liked to have seen more "uniqueness" as far as inversions and such. Overall a pretty nice coaster!
AlmereStars Posted August 14, 2008 Author Posted August 14, 2008 @jarmor: it's not the most realistic coaster, but it was more the idea of a launched flyer (just like yours). I know it doesn't have alot of custom supports, but this is the first coaster where I tried that, so its more of practising then making supports @someone: post #5 there's a download @rct3man777: sorry, their won't be a vid. the program I used gave me an all black screen when I tried to play it
dr.gumbo Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 @rct3man777: sorry, their won't be a vid. the program I used gave me an all black screen when I tried to play it I could make one for you if its okay with you?
AlmereStars Posted August 15, 2008 Author Posted August 15, 2008 @rct3man777: sorry, their won't be a vid. the program I used gave me an all black screen when I tried to play it I could make one for you if its okay with you? if you want you can make it I really need a new vid-capturing program!
KPWoCkAxX Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Try Fraps............. Not sure if it's free or not though.
