Trip to Germany next year

I'm looking to plan a 4 day/3 night trip to Germany next year primarily to go to Holiday Park. I'm not sure on where to stay or if i could squeeze in perhaps another park or 2. Being my first trip over to Germany I aslo don't know if I should rent a car or if there is transportation from nearby hotels. Any help or advice would be appriciated. Thanks.

- Rent a car.

- Half day at Tripsdrill, Half day at Holiday Park.

- Full day at Europa.

- Full day at Phantasialand.

 

As far as the exact itinerary and where to stay, well that depends on where you're flying in and out of.

Excellent, thank you. I would say Dusseldorf for an airport unless there is one that's more convenient. This is a first for me so planning is key. Is staying by the airport better? Thanks for your help Elissa, it's much appriciated

^ Check whether Frankfurt airport isn't more convenient. In any case you will probably have a better connection to Frankfurt iso Dusseldorf.

 

Btw, don't forget to include a visit to the Nurburgring where the fastest coaster in the world is being built.

Thanks, your right Frankfurt seems like it may be a much more central location. I didn't realize Nurburgring was so close either, I should be able to do that quick since it'll be the only credit there. Another question I have is what the best time of the year to go would be, I'm thinking spring or early fall.

^If you don't want to miss the Nurburgring coaster fall, as that coaster will only open in June.

Avoid June because of schooltrips.

Avoid early September too.

 

I've been to Europapark on a Friday late September 2 years ago and all rides were walk ons, so I can recommend that period.

Timely thread. A friend of mine just moved to Munich and I was thinking about doing a trip to Germany next summer as well. I was thinking Holiday and Europa. Heide is about 6 hours away from Munich (according to Google Maps).

Well, since Ring Racer at Nurburgring doesn't open until June...mid-late Sept seems like an ideal time. The only concern I'd have is will parks be open Fridays or Mondays that late in the season. If they weren't maybe late Aug would be better. Too bad Heide is so far away. Does anyone know how the driving is there...are directions pretty simple to follow going to parks?

^Driving can be very fast at most places if you want, as there is no speed limit at a lot of parts of the highways

With a good map, it should be pretty easy, although I strongly recommend renting a gps.

 

You can easily find back the opening days on the parkwebsites.

In any case Europapark is open daily till beginning of November.
