schweppers94 Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Hey everybody! So I went with some friends to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom yesterday and figured it was about time I did a Photo TR. So here it is! And V2. Did I mention it was both overcast and cold? Because it was. And yet this didn't stop people from coming. But anyways, that's all for this Photo TR. Actually, we did a lot more than that, including eating Subway and going to the Sea Lion show! Which you should definitely go see. Its the best show there. Well that's it. Thanks for reading! Roar, Then we went for a few rides on Medusa, and Stevie Wonder! lions, elephants, After Big Spin we went to see some animals. Like cougars, Bunny hills! Which are sadly pretty airtime-less because of how tight the restraints are. Some more nice theming. Dude have you seen my spleen? The station. Pret-ty cool... Close up of one of the cars. You get some pretty good speed going up the lift hill. The Wild Mouse part of the ride. Going around the helix. This car had a pretty good spin going on. I see you Tony Hawk! Going into the helix Tony Hawk in the 2000's. Also known as now. Tony Hawk in the 90's. Does he still skateboard? It seems like he should be in his early 40's by now. The 90's... The 80's... While you wait in line, they give you a little overview of the history of skateboarding. Entrance! Oooo... There's what we came for. Tony Hawk's Big Spin! Holy Multi-colored animals Batman! We're almost there!
Goliath513 Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Nice pictures. I'm glad to see the park doesn't shut down when it rains. About the lack of airtime on Tony Hawk? Those restraints weren't tight on me at all, so I got great ejector air right as the car hit the brake-run. I guess it all depends how far they push them down.
jarmor Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Why are their gates around the signs?? Is vandalisim that bad at that park?
nagro5 Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 ^I don't think that it's because of vandalism. I thought it was to add theming, because the one at SFFT has gates in front of their signs too.
R.C. Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Why are their gates around the signs?? Is vandalisim that bad at that park? Vandalism is bad at SFDK. People are always scratching their initials into the wood on the stations for Boomerang and Roar. People also write on the walls in the other stations with markers. I'm sure there is a lot worse vandalism at other parks though. I believe that the chain link fence in front of the signs is part of the themeing and to keep people from messing with the signs. The first sign is farther away from the queue than the rest of the signs and it doesn't have the chain link fence... Also, I agree with Goliath513. The THBS restraint was never so tight on me that it kept me from feeling the air time on the last two hills. It was probably just because the operators weren't pushing it really tight. I thought the hill going into the brake run gave a good amount of ejector air time for how small the coaster is.
